I agree. I reckon a lot of Americans had a lot of soul searching to go through before they cast their vote.

I don't buy it in this case. I think the American people had just had enough of The Clintons.[/QUOTE]

Whilst Trump is one of the wealthy elite, he fought a campaign on breaking that monopoly of power and wealth. He said something different, which voters wanted to hear.
You have to ask why people have had enough of the Clintons?

Perception, rightly or wrongly, that they are crooks. Plus people just get tired of the same old faces.

And anybody who believes what Trump promises should see a psychiatrist!

What possible interest would an out & out capitalist, like Trump, have in getting rid of wealthy elitism? Only if it was to grab more of it for himself!

Sorry but as distasteful as the likes of Trump, and for that matter, Farage are, they promised something different which the electorates of both the UK and the States want. Whether they deliver, time will tell.

How would he implement a ban on Muslims entering the US?

    They don't have Muslim passports.

Clinton supporters are crying. Too many people don't seem to have any backbone nowadays.

Well it has definitely been an interesting year for politics there is no doubt.

Wonder if the UK is still "back of the queue" when it comes to trade deals with the USA ...

You're almost right Kustard. Trump was swept to power by hordes of dribbling idiots, similar in many ways to the mugs who voted for Brexit.

The thick, angry people of the world have spoken. And they have said "**** off".

It will be interesting to see how much of trumps rhetoric actually becomes part of his policies.
    NATO shake up,
Offshore call centres being relocated to US
    Scrapping TPP and TTIP
Withdrawal from Paris accord on climate change.
    Restricting imports generally.
    Etc.

The Clintons IMHO are a low-grade Kennedy dynasty wannabee, and the
one thing it has seemed to me is that she oozed a sense of entitlement to be
    president of the USA throughout.

As with the Leave result here, the USA politniks have the opportunity to do
a root and branch appraisal of the beliefs and perceptions of the electorate
    (whatever they may be) .
