Thats the other thing that always bothered me about the EU, they have the Eurozone, the Shengen Treaty and all this other **** that they want us to be a part of and we always say no (rightfully so).
So, when it is clear that their ultimate aims and goals are so far adrift from our own, would we opt to stay in the EU?
We keep continuously saying No to the single currency, no to this, no to that. Scrambling to try and have our cake and eat it.
And there is all this talk, however far down the right it might be, of EU armies, EU controlled borders etc. Yes we can veto stuff like this, but only as long as the EU allows us to veto these things, they can change the rules if they like. Maybe in a few years they decide that votes do not have to be unanimous. If our government pulled that kind of ****, we can vote them out, pressure them to hold GE. We have no such power, as the British public, with the EU.

You cannot rule Europe with a single government, each country has different economies, different values, different cultures. I can respect and love other cultures for their differences, I don't hold with the EU's ideals on mass conformity.

I have a biometric passport, and it's usually not too bad to be fair. But then I don't fly in peak holiday periods!

If they are here, and they are working and have families and ****, then there is no reason to be a-holes and uproot them.
I have no problem with living among foreigners.

We've always fought against federalist ideals and used our veto when necessary.

We joined the EEC as a trade partnership and it's developed into what the EU is today over 40 years. We've never been comfortable with some aspects of it - BUT, we've always known that our original reason for joining in the first place i.e. trade, remained reason enough to stay as part of it. Not even the Tories in their peak of Euro scepticism and flag waving jingoism in the Thatcher and Major era dared take us out - as they knew that we needed to retain our status and then fight from within against anything that wasn't to our taste.

Regardless, anyone who is here, employed and has a family should definitely be able to stay, without question!
Like Tobes said, anything else would be silly.

I would also hope that the EU member states return the favour with our expats.
We dont want NSIS back, the Spanish can keep him!! <whistle>

If I wanted them out I would say so. I dont mess about with words.
Like I said, Im happy for them to stay as long as ours can stay in other EU countries (except NSIS, he must return and live in Scotland) <laugh>
Its a no brainer, but the PM will not yet say anything about them as she will (wrongly) use them as a bargaining chip
