Federalism and a single currency are an all or nothing ticket. I am a federalist and have no interest in nationalism or keeping any of the trappings of it (currency/army etc) but recognise there is zero point in attempting federalism without the support of those involved.
For the Euro to survive those nations involved will need to move to a more federalist system of local and Euro wide taxation and budgets
