I wasn't suggesting that he was a terrible idea because of his criminal colleague, just using it as a way to move onto that.
He's worked for RT in the past and there's a lot of crap about all of the anti-EU parties and Russia doing the rounds.
Le Pen's funded by them, for example.

One of the only consistent issues with a lot of the alt-right is Russia.
They're very positive about Putin, for some reason.

The next ambassador, if appointed tomorrow, will have a full 12 weeks to get acquainted with the job and the other 27 EU ambassadors. I'm sure they'll all clear their diaries to accommodate him/her <laugh>

    What a ****ing shambles <badger>

It turned out he was a prominent drug dealer in the area, which was what he was eventually put away for. It went a little deeper than that, but he is now out and trying to get on with his life, so I would rather not elaborate further.
The point is, that too my knowledge, he didn't have a drug problem himself and I thought he was totally trustworthy.

Kustard, the NUS was highjacked by a bunch of complete fruitcakes a while ago.

A bit like the highjacking of the Labour Party, the mainstream have been caught unawares and now need to be mobilised to fight back against the extremists.

The NUS do not represent the views of the majority of students any more than Corbyn and his band of 1970's Trots are representative of mainstream labour voters.

I didn't know Farage worked fo RT or that they funded LePen? I try not to get involved in right / left wing argument and is one of the reasons I tend not to post links.
I don't know an awful lot about Farage or others like him. All I comment on, is that his views for the Brexit vote, centred on an immigration argument, which are not my views in any way. Thats why I personally dislike him.

I asked a question to the forum. I didn't demand anyone comment. You can avoid it if you prefer. Some chose to answer it. Again, you stomping your feet doesn't make you right, particularly when you're clearly wrong.

That's about it for today's Brexit news. The actual Brexit news as opposed to what Change Britain have to say or some unrelated figures which people will desperately cling to as proof something that hasn't happened yet is already a great success.

It's not just the NUS, universities are funded by big business who have an interest in promoting certain forms of thinking and promoting division. It's why so many of the reports need a double check for the reality.

I think if he lacked the commitment, it is probably the right thing to do (I hadn't heard of him until around lunchtime today, so I'm not sure if he was a "inner or outer"). You can have all the skill in the world but you need the desire to go with it. It could have been worse in that he started the process and then bailed out, that really wouldn't help either side of the argument and the EU.

The Russians don't 'fund' Le Penn any more than banks fund others. It was a loan.

Farage doesn't work for RT any more than anyone else they interview, although they seemingly have asked if he'd like to.

There are many reasons to dislike him, but my main one is his hypocrisy.
He is everything that he claims to oppose, but he mugs off his supporters with his bloke down the pub shtick.

Le Pen's party has had donations from Russia and owes a Russian owned bank millions.
She's supposedly asking for a load more in loans and today's she's claimed that Russia's annexation of Crimea was legitimate.
No connection there at all. Honest.

It's funny how little digging you have to do to find connections between all of these new populist movements and Putin.
He's not even bothering to disguise it. People just don't care.

here is the pound graph, you see that big cliff that hasn't returned back to normal? http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=USD&view=1Ywell, that was simply the vote that did that, that has made everything cheaper to export, and while we still have the single market smart people will use it as much as possible before it closes and export all they can. That's because as soon as we actually leave, exports will be subjected to levies and won't be cheap any more, and demand will drop, if not stop altogether. Importing stuff, on the other hand, will cost a **** load more.
Well, not really 'will cost more', because, since the vote, they've all risen way above the expectations.

You don't get it, do you? Or maybe you do and you're on their side?

Putin's game is easy to see. Divide and conquer. He'll fund, support, advocate anything and anybody that he thinks will help divide the EU, which he perceives as his enemy.

And the others don't of course. America and the EU were totally honest in their build up on the Russian border, the Ukraine, Syria, Saudi etc etc

Putin illegally invaded and annexed a part of another sovereign state. Simple as...

Syria, its been a political football between the Americans and Russia for ages. Putin is only there because Assad is his puppet.

Saudi is a dictatorship, just like Russia!...
