So the attacks on the Polish lads after the vigil at the weekend were xenophobic attacks and not racist ones?

Not going to get into the semantics of it, but I'll think you'll find it's the latter.

However, I think most of what's been displayed on here is driven by xenophobia tbh, small minded, fearful individuals who haven't even been touched by immigration in a negative form, but who don't want it encroaching on their area.......like some C18th surf who never left the village and fetched a pitch fork if a stranger appeared.

You have been repeatedly asked to explain which bit of those answers you don't understand, and have repeatedly failed to do so. I'm STILL more than happy to answer, all you need do is ask.

I can only assume you realise that if you did explain, the answer could well mean you can't just post pithy insults like the thick, inadequate ****er you are.

I do not know of which attacks you speak.
If the Polish lads were white, and the people attacking them, attacked them because they are white, then thats a racist attack.
Ditto if they were black, and the people attacking them attacked them because they are black, then thats a racist attack.
If they were attacked because they were Polish, then thats a xenophobic attack.

Polish isn't a race, its a nationality.

 

But its true, police figures show as much.

I don't want to get involved really, but mate I beg to differ, take a look at this from cps.gov.uk Definition of racism.

"A racial group means a group of persons defined by reference to race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origins." The definition is wide and victims may come within the definition under more than one of the references. Gypsies and some travellers, refugees or asylum seekers or others from less visible minorities would be included within this definition. While Romany gypsies have long been recognised as a ethnic racial group (Commission for Racial Equality v Dutton [1989] QB 783), in more recent times and certainly since the first instance discrimination case of O'Leary v Punch Retail (HHJ Goldstein, Westminster County Court, 29 August 2000), Irish Travellers have also been considered an ethnic racial group. Whilst this has not been considered by an appellate criminal court, the O'Leary case is regarded as being persuasive if the point is ever taken.

So in terms of nationality, it can be racism.

 

So what you meant to say is, that a high percentage of ATM thieves are Romanian.
Not a high percentage of Romanians are ATM thieves.
