Probably. I'm not sure why they weren't both just called Italian. I'd guess there was no such place as Italy then, but I think I'm right in saying that the original Latin's were a remote tribe. They did well to spread the word. It must have been confusing for everyone else, having to spend their time conjugating before they could be understood.

Technically yes, she would be monarch of those traffic lights, though to refer to her in such a way, would lead people to think you are all kinds of ******.
The Queen of England is an accepted moniker, even if thats not the official title any longer. Why is this such an issue for you?

You have to be an extreme pedant to ignore the point that virtually any member of the public when asked who the Queen of England is would respond Elizabeth II.

To the people of England she is their queen and therefore is the Queen of England despite having the official title of Queen of UK.
An example of this is her coronation where all the countries where she is the monarch was represented by symbols including the English Rose but there was no symbol to represent the United Kingdom. A pedant would point out the fault, but to a normal person it would be understood.

Exactly, she IS the Queen of England, even if its not her title.
Like for example, Jose Mourinho is manager of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as he is a Man utd player, but his official title is Man utd manager, not Zlatan Ibrahimovic's manager, even though technically he is.

But Queen of England is a perfectly accepted title that has been used for hundreds of years. Like I said, very finicky.

It didn't even make sense as well as showing a total lack of understand of the position of the House of Lords. Did he mean "The House of Lords of England" as you may say? I don't even know how "leaving England" would solve the problem he confusingly sees. He could of accepted that he'd got it wrong but him, as well as others, got in a tangle trying to justify it. They desperately want to talk nonsense rather than use logic. This is because they are struggling to justify the comments they make. Can you imagine somebody meaning "Commission of the European Union" but instead saying "Commission of Belgium" and trying to justify it by saying that Belgium is in the EU?

The title was Queen/King of England for hundreds of years.
Then when the UK was formed it became Queen of the United Kingdom.
She is still Queen of England though, even if it is no longer the official title.
