The Arsenal board will be dull, dull, dull without him. We also need Hans Gruber back too. He stirred it up nicely.

That arsenal board is like a graveyard without them too. Plus Wenger still hasn't signed anyone decent so it'd be hilarious the **** he would come out with

Agree but why did you call it the EU Debate thread then? <laugh> "Political discussion thread" would've been better.

BTW none of you **** bastards can have a go at BRB, I pm'd him to close that thread!!! It was a **** thread and God help me, if I had to do it all again, I would <grr>

So Angela (treacherous bitch) Eagle has dropped out of the Labour leadership race after stabbing Corbyn in the back and bringing about a constitutional crisis in the Labour party.

She was out of her depth anyway. Never looked like a leader. But tbf, does anyone in the Labour Party?

I was all for him a year ago, but I think his position has become untenable. Are we saying one man is bigger than the party? I know we've covered this, but when it came to the EU campaign he lacked real leadership and I hold him partly responsible for the result.

Don't believe everything the media tells you (better still believe very little) The EU coverage was dominated by Boris and Farage as they were the cartoon characters that sold newspapers and generated clicks. Corbyn did his campaigning and secured 60% of the Labour vote for remain.

I think there are a lot of people who want to paint a picture of Corbyn as a man who can't lead the party, but that is because the political establishment are **** scared of him. They have tried everything to discredit the man, but he will not rise to the bait and get embroiled in a slanging match and that is making them more and more desperate. Corbyn's policies are sound, he stands for social justice and the ordinary working man, the establishment are bricking themselves because of that.

Funny how they are making Eagles out to be noble in pulling out of the race to help with party unity...instead of pointing out the fact that she was caught out lying about pro Corbyn supporters throwing homophobic abuse at her at a meeting and damaging her Labour Party HQ. She is and the others like her are responsible for Labour being in a mess imho.

I am not a Labour Party member and so I did not vote for Corbyn so have no reason to defend him but the behaviour of the anti Corbyn camp has been a joke from the minute he was elected. If they had spent this amount of time and energy fighting the Tories Labour might be in a better position.

I really couldn't give a toss. My views about Corbyn, and his electability, I've already aired. They haven't changed.

As far as Eagles goes, my view is that she was never more than a 'stalking horse' - 'Red herring', whatever you want to call it....

I can agree with what you're both saying, the trouble is it doesn't equate to a strong Labour Party and a strong opposition to this government. The problem is that while Corbyn may be strong with his party members, he as leader AND the Labour Party, are a mess as an institution. IF I could see this changing with him being re-elected, I'd be all for him again, but the reality is, it's just going to get worse. And it's not good for the country.
