Pepe merely mugged himself off. He got into an ongoing niggle with Alioski and was plain daft in sticking his head in. The play acting was OTT but the player has no excuse, he got rattled and lost it. Red card, move on.

If we’re talking simulation just have a look at Jota going down like he’d been kicked in the bollocks looking for a pen after getting his shot off. That kind of **** winds me up far more. Players feeling any sort of contact in the box and hitting the deck.

Both incidents were bullshit.

Any playacting should be carded.

Nah, Pepe had to go mate. You can’t stick the head in and not get a red, irrespective of whether the player hits the deck or not, you’re off. Different when they just go head to head, but as soon as you make that head butt movement you’re ****ed.

He put his head in there, that's always a red for stupidity. but the falling over on contact is ****ing annoying, players will do it all the time the ref's look for contact rather than the way the player fell down. Do they stumble, if someone's left leg gets contact why does the right leg go up in unison? This is what refs should be looking at, players like Salah should be getting booked, not awarded penalties for his blatant diving, ffs it's clear and obvious on the VAR replays.

Pepe was stupid for putting his head into that Leeds twat, but ffs the **** went down like he'd been shot and was definitely trying to get him sent off.

They both should have been yellow carded and get on with the game.

It was a definite red mate, the Leeds lad going down like he'd been shot doesn't change that.

It's your own fault for spending £70m on a moronic donkey.

Yeah, you're ****ed if you put your head in like that.

Somebody probably should have kicked that Leeds twat in the bollocks just to even things up like.

Reactions: Tobes
Something that really bothers me.

I watched the Arsenal vs Leceister game last night with a friend who does'nt watch football at all.

Their immediate reaction to the Pepe incedent was laughing at the fact the player had play acted and fell-over. "This is exactly why I dont watch football" they said.

However Tyler and Neville's immediate reaction was that it was a fair red card because Pepe should never have shown that aggression. Now let's be honest that 'headbutt' was not violent conduct, it would not have hurt a child, it would'nt have even harmed a butterfly.

The reason this nonsense persists is rival fans will defend the decisions that benefit them. And the media dont have the balls to call anyone out.

Personally I would love more contact to be allowed in the game, it is supposed to be a 'contact sport' afterall. I dont have a problem with players showing anger and aggression on the pitch. Look at Rugby - things sometimes spill over but on the whole the way players behave and the way the game is officiated is soo superior to football.

Cant we just be honest and call a spade a spade. Nobody wants to watch bad acting - we watch football for goals and excitement. It's a common complaint and I feel like football would benefit hugely in terms of popularity should they get a hold of this culture - it needs to be cut. It lessens the validity of results and overall just tarnishes the beautiful game.

Players, fans and the media just need to be honest though.

Arsenal didn't play Leicester yesterday ... so didn't bother reading the rest <whistle>

If Pepe had any sense he would have done it as soon as he knew he was walking. If you are going to get sent off at least have the satisfaction of knowing you inflicted some pain.

@brb the floods of tears are brilliant.

Keep this thread open. Close when Arsenal fans accept they’re cheats.

Thanks.
Na fans with attitudes like this is the reason we still have this **** in the game. Just needs a bit of objectivity.

I'm not particularly interested in the Pepe incident just the culture in general.

Yeah it was pure coincidence that you - as a Gooner - made this thread the day after the Pepe sending off mate. Just spooky timing that’s all.
