That was just posted on his twitter. He was saying a few weeks ago that he wanted to end his career playing in Oz. Maybe once he is better it would be the ideal time for him to go.
If Richard Garcia has played his last game for our club then as usual, thanks for the memories. Mr Garcia, good luck to you with your recovery from injury and all the best in your future career.
i wanted him to sign his deal as i like him, but there was a small part of me that thought "shouldnt have kept us dangling over whether your signing it or not, tough ****" when i read this...you should hear the way i talk about players i dont like
Garcia did what he thought was best for Garcia. JB did the same. Dont like to quote Ken Bates but he once said i wouldnt hang a dog on the sworn word of a pro footballer.
Shame for him. I hope he was not stalling over a piece of advice from his leach of an agent after a few more pieces of silver( for the agent not Garcia)
i think he and the club knew a long time ago. As someone who the ACL op quite a few years ago, he knew that every time he jumped for a ball he risked that painful wobble. Good luck to a true professional. Mentioning no names in particular but many footballers of today should bow in his presence!
A victim of our promotion to the Premiership in my opinion. Not quite good enough for the EPL but a very good Championship player. If any of you decide to watch the Dared to Dream dvd then you will see he was one of our best players that season and scored some belters and set up chances every game. I wouldn't be disappointed if we kept hold of him
Roo should be able to confirm/deny this, but I think the Aussie league runs Jan-Dec rather than the July-June we have over here. If that's the case then it it's possibly not too disastrous for him (if he's wanting to move over there anyway). He can go home and do all the rehab in Australia spending all his time with his family and friends over there and he'll be back ready for their preseason. Obviously it's horrible it's happened to him, but if he'd have been staying here and signing for a club in November/December he's then got his preseason to go wthrough while he's missing games and he'd be behind the rest of the squad for pretty much the whole of the season and it would have been more difficult to come back strongly.
If he wasn't sure what he was going to do before, I think this injury may well have made his mind up for him, I suspect Ricardo is right and he'll go over to Oz to do his rehab. If I had to do some long term rehab, I'd quite fancy doing it in Oz and I'm not an Aussie.
