The difference being any transfer fee received for Fabregas is likely to be spent on a suitable replacement plus strengthening in other areas. If the sizable transfer fees we'd expect for Snodgrass and Gradel were to be reinvested in getting some true quality replacements and the rest spent on strengthening other areas, I wouldn't be so anxious. As it stands, however, I can't see us spending more than £500k for a single player and I can see the majority of our incomings being frees.
