Chappers will be our 20 goal man, tremendous effort all round from a very physical game. To win here will be massive.
We're not going to be the type of team that gets promotion with that 20 goal number 9 everybody thinks we need. It's Harness and Chaplin that will top the scoring charts, our front striker is only there to create the space for them.
To win that showed our strengths, toughness and skills. We have become a Championship team again. Chappers is my MOTM, bloody great effort.
Yesss!!! Another win and another three points. McKenna has identified what is needed to compete regularly in this league and bought the right players into the club and developed a style that can be fluid and dominating as well as robust and battling when required. I said before, it seems to take teams that haven't been in League One for a while and end up here a bit of time to understand how to get results against the much varied styles played here. It looks like we have finally got that understanding now and are picking up results regardless of the opposition and the way they want to play.
Actually, we have become a League One team, capable of dealing with the assortment of challenges here now
Just seen KMc’s post match interview, what a fantastic coach we’ve got.Not only is it apparent there’s always a plan B (and C) but he’s obviously enjoying the role, interaction (banter) with the players and the fantastic support home and away. You can almost palpably feel his growing passion. https://www.itfc.co.uk/ifollow/video-archive/
It was a very enjoyable interview, my favourite so far. I was going to also mention it. Not sure if he maybe gives a little bit too much away about his football philosophies and such but he sure comes across well. He gives clear reasons for his choices of player for a particular match and explains everything in a way that makes you understand why he makes those decisions. We have to enjoy his time with us while it lasts because it won't be long before he is approached by a larger club.
SD I expressed my thoughts about that aspect on TWTD as follows: I would really, really hate him to leave before he, at least, took us back to the Championship. It is,however, inevitable that one day a “bigger” Club will lure him away. The only comfort I take is that our present ownership structure would be able to replace him with a similarly young, progressive coach.
Good luck to them finding another McKenna! He has a high level pedigree you won't find often. He really is going to be a top manager. We just have to hope that our success fits his timeline and that he feels supported and suitably challenged to stay.
I think he’s smart enough to know he has to build a reputation before a big club will be in for him - and he will have seen how doing that too early turned out for Lampard and Solskjaer. I doubt he’ll be attracted by another championship club. If he went to someone like Bournemouth in the situation they’re in at the moment - that’s a hell of a risk to his career. Why would he move if things are going well at Town? I think he’ll at least get us competitive in the Championship before he moves on.
