I read Malachy McCourt's autobiography (which is really funny) and he mentions that Sean South went to the same school as him in Limerick and was well known and eulogised around that area but never mentioned him being involved with any far right groups (and he dished the dirt on all and sundry).

I found that book to be self indulgent bollocks. Even if he was from the far right both the McCourts were so busy caught up in their own malady I doubt they'd notice.

I liked it

Frank McCourt's books were poverty porn of the worst read-by-your-mother-in-law kind but Malachy's book was just a freeloading pished guy.

It made me laugh - he mentioned absolutely none of the stuff his brother's book did and concentrated on sneaking into places and stealing bevvy

It made me laugh at times but it was so self indulgent.

I stuck that longer than I stuck Frank McCourt. I read another book around the same time and I can't remember which one it was. Did he go to India and talk about all the mad bureaucracy they had. I liked that bit.

CREEP IN FANTASY LAND IN VILLARREAL

ODIOUS CREEP has stepped right into the vanguard of the movement which looks like it is trying to scupper the Rangers share issue and kill the club.

And it looks as though the Herald’s on-line columnist is in the company of those other well-known Rangers haters, Channel Four’s Alex Thomson, Philmacgiollabhain and Mirror Group Newspapers sports writer, Brian Patrick McNally.

Yesterday I highlighted the blatant lie published on McNally’s official Mirror Twitter account by the Sunday Mirror’s Brian Patrick McNally and told Rangers supporters what to do to bring about this liar’s downfall.

Now I want to turn my attention to Odious Creep and the coincidence of another lie, published just over twenty four hours after McNally’s falsehood that Rangers fans had been signing the Famine Song during Sunday’s match against Clyde at Broadwood. A theme which was taken up by another arch-Rangers hater, Philmacgiollabhain.

Creep seldom dallies with the truth and his infatuation fantasy land has taken him down another yellow brick road and his dotty destination was put there for all to see by the Herald in its on-line edition, where Odious Creep claimed that he was attacked by Rangers supporters on the streets of Villarreal on his way to report on the Rangers Champions League match there in the Spring of 2006.

Actually, what Odious Creep wrote was: “I got fairly bumped around and was spat on.”

How do I know that those Odious Creep claims are preposterous and that it did not happen like that?

Easy!

The answer is because I was there, within touching distance of him. Though – and I must stress this – I did not touch him. Perhaps Odious Creep has forgotten that. I saw what actually happened and not what Odious Creep has convinced himself did happen and which he now wants others to believe happened.

I was on the same media coach he travelled on and which made the journey to the Villarreal from Valencia where we were all based. The coach could not get into the narrow and badly congested street where the ground is and deposited journalists just round the corner from the Madrigal.

The whole area was a crowded, jostling mass of teeming humanity, Scots and Spaniards and police and we all loudly encouraged the Spanish bus driver to get us nearer. He just shrugged his shoulders and said something in Spanish about tomorrow.

As we filed down the stairs and out of the bus, I actually exited immediately behind Odious Creep. For the rest of the 200 yards, round the corner and down a narrow street thronged with supporters of both sides, I was never more than four yards behind him.

To give those who were not there an idea of the scene, let me say it was a bit like getting across the narrow railway bridge which leads away from Hibernian’s ground and down towards Easter Road. There was no room to swing a cat.

During this crawl of a walk through a congested area with Coronation Street back-to-back houses, which reminded me of the streets which used to surround Derby’s old Baseball Ground, Rangers supporters spotted and identified a number of reporters, including me.

We were the target for the usual boisterous shouting, cheering and jeering, with plenty of the sort of industrial language which is part and parcel of big football crowds.

Rangers supporters were in high spirits, in good spirits, but they still managed to make their feelings about Odious Creep known to him. Verbally!

At no time did I witness him being assaulted as we bustled our way through the tightly packed crowds on the narrow streets.

And at no time, from a distance of no more than four yards from him throughout this journey, did I see him being spat on.

He was in my view for the whole journey. What he says happened, did not happen.

Certainly he was on the end of some choice insults. But, hey, it’s a man’s game, after all. And I’ve seen some reporters get a lot worse from the Tartan Army at Glasgow Airport.

So, why did Odious Creep chose to make these allegations for the very first time now, more than six years after the Rangers trip to Villarreal?

Well, it was perfectly timed after the in-the-main unsubstantiated claims by Alex Thomson on Channel Four that more than 30 Scottish journalists have been threatened by Rangers supporters, a figure which he plucked, unchecked, from Philmacgiollabhain’s rant to the strongly anti Rangers National Union of Journalists.

And it came after Creep actually made it into the print edition of the Herald last week with a story previewing Alex Thomson’s Channel Four claims.

Strange, that!

Isn’t it?

There is also the curious case about Odious Creep’s hazy recall about his claims of his then editor at the Herald telephoning him to ask whether he thought the paper should contact the police to give Creep security advice.

What Creep wrote when trying to tell us when this is supposed to have happened was: “Round about 2005.”

Eh?

Let me run that piece of imprecise reporting past you again.

Odious Creep wrote: “Round about 2005.”

So was that in winter 2004 near the turn of the year? Or was it early in 2006 just after the turn of the year? Or in any of the twelve months which made up 2005?

It just goes to show what pap the Herald in prepared to publish these days. Even in the outer limits of its on-line-only-edition.

What I believe we are seeing is a concentrated, if not orchestrated attempt, by those who hate Rangers to sabotage Charles Green’s efforts to attract institutional investors when the new Rangers regime launches its share issue.

Odious Creep, Brian Patrick McNally and Philmacgiollabhain and their cohorts can do nothing to stop Rangers supporters buying into the dream with their money.

But by blackening the name, Rangers, they can cause Charles Green a problem when it comes to attracting the sort of major investors, the sort of big players from the City of London and further afield he wants to attract. The people with the sort of cash which can return Rangers to the place Odious Creep, Brian Patrick McNally and Philmacgiollabhain most certainly do not want to see them. The top!

Some Rangers supporters have been dismissive of my continued highlighting of the danger to the club Odious Creep presents. They saw him as a spent force.

My belief was that he would forge new alliances, stoop to the gutters and beyond to the sewers, in a desperate attempt to damage Rangers, especially while they remain vulnerable. My belief is that Odious Creep wants to try to finish them off.

Judging by what he wrote in the Herald-on-line-edition yesterday, it would appear that my fears have been confirmed.

AND......

I was surprised to learn that some Rangers supporters – though only an underwhelming minority – failed to realise the importance of the point I made when I highlighted the fact that the Herald and BBC Scotland ignored the Celtic connection and thus the link to Scotland, regarding the care home scandal in England.

However, the overwhelming majority must surely have got the point. In fact, I know they did.

Fortunately at least one Irish newspaper was not so squeamish when it came to pointing out that connection to the Republic of Ireland.

Which once again serves to emphasise just how in thrall to the power of Parkhead and to Celtic supporters some Scottish news media outlets are. Especially the Herald and BBC Scotland, two media outlets which have something else in common.

They both employ Odious Creep.

I thought Charlie Green had all the big moneyed investors all signed up, even before he took over Rangers. Twenty, he said and
that it was surprisingly easy in theses recessionary times to get them all to invest.
Surely Charles said that around about the time he was afraid of his life, as he was been threatened almost daily by Rangers supporters.

Its all strange now people are blaming reporters for Green not getting any money.

GOOD RECEPTION FOR GREEN FROM RANGERS FAT CAT FANS

THE lessons Rangers supporters learned from their headlong rush to embrace disgraced shyster Craig Whyte is one of the reasons why Charles Green had to prove himself to them before he was accepted.

That was only right and proper and exactly as it should be. Only mugs would have accepted the new regime at face value.

It was something Alistair McCoist, the Rangers supporter closer to the new regime than any other and no mug, took time to ponder before giving his clear and determined public backing to the Charles Green-Imran Ahmad regime

It would appear, following the McCoist endorsement, there is now a growing feeling the new regime can be trusted with the stewardship of the club. To such an extent that Walter Smith is now considering an invitation to rejoin Rangers, this time at board level. While others with impeccable business and Rangers supporting credentials are also on the brink of entering the Blue Room.

It has been a gradual process, but there is no doubt Charles Green and his close associate Imran Ahmad, are making progress.

The warm reception Charles Green got after he addressed the fat cats for 45 minutes in the Waddell Suite on Saturday is testament to just how much progess he has made.

Two months ago the businessmen who inhabit the Waddell Suite would have howled him down. Now they are willing to listen to him.

And one thing which has helped this, is the way that since they arrived inside Ibrox, Charles Green and Imran Ahmad have become more and more suspicious about the actions of those seriously under-investigation administrators, Duff and Phelps.

I must claim some credit for putting Duff and Phelps under the spotlight before anyone else.

The proof of my claim dates back to March 1st when I published a piece here, in which I first called into question the role David Grier, a senior partner in Duff and Phelps, played in the Craig Whyte negotiations to raise the cash, via a secret loan from Ticketus, to meet the purchase price of Rangers from David Murray, putting Rangers in hock to Ticketus.

I questioned David Grier’s role and questioned both the morality and, indeed, the legality of such a deal. That was on March 1st.

It all seemed a little too shady for my liking and it was the starting point of my long campaign against the way Duff and Phelps went about the administration of Rangers, an administration which Craig Whyte moved heaven and earth to ensure was placed in their hands.

And an administration which is now the subject of not one, not even just two, but three investigations, including one by the country's foremost Judicial expert in this field, Lord Hodge.

Yet, amazingly, within an hour of that March 1st’s LeggoLand being published, I was contacted by a Rangers fan, lambasting me for what I wrote and warning me that I was stepping onto dodgy ground by inferring Duff and Phelps were “bent.”

The gist of the argument being put forward by some supporters, who remained loyal to Craig Whyte even then, supporters who remained in denial about Craig Whyte’s guilt, was that if Craig Whyte had not pushed for the appointment of Duff and Phelps, then the administrators HMRC preferred would have been put in charge and they may have forced Rangers into liquidation.

So, how did that turn out?

The same supporters also made it clear that they had still to make their decision about Craig Whyte’s culpability.

This, remember, was more than a fortnight after the full extent of Craig Whyte’s dodgy dealings with HMRC – the actual dealings which caused Rangers to suffer the initial indignity of administration and which eventually led to the even worse indignity of liquidation and the Third Division - had been placed in the public domain.

And the point of all of this?

Merely to remind people that my record of calling things right during the past nine months or so has been pretty good. Not 100 per cent. But then again, LeggoLand is not handed down on tablets of stone. Neither is it a sermon from the mount.

However, further proof of me being on the money and on the trail of the Rangers cash came two days before Rangers went into administration, I questioned why David Murray was calling for further clarification as to where Craig Whyte got the money to buy Rangers, despite Murray having been involved in six months of negotiations with Whyte, which included David Murray doing due diligence on the conman.

And at 9am on February 14th, a full four hours before Rangers went into administration, I started attempting to unravel the manner in which Craig Whyte had got his filthy paws on the money he used to buy Rangers and start creating havoc inside Ibrox.

Then, within twenty four hours of the Craig Whyte house of cards tumbling and Rangers being put into administration, I had done some simple arithmetic and calculated that there was around Â£50M unaccounted for from the Rangers income during the period when Craig Whyte had been in control at Ibrox.

All of which serves as a reminder to the very small and underwhelming minority of regular readers who carp ceaselessly about whatever subject I have written, even to the extent of attacking me for pointing out that Jock Stein, when Scotland manager, once had as bad a run in competitive matches as Craig Levein has just suffered.

Where I will hold up my hand and admit to being wrong was, firstly over Craig Whyte, a man who we all knew little or nothing about, but who appeared to be making all the right noises when he first took over.

He appeared to be bullish in his defence of Rangers, particularly in respect to attacks made by Rangers arch enemies, BBC Scotland. We know now – as I admit I should have spotted at that time – that it was not Rangers Craig Whyte was defending, it was himself.

Against that, I believe I was one of the first to recognise him for what is most certainly is, a liar, a cheat, a conman, a trickster and a shyster.

It was therefore reasonable for me to be sceptical of Charles Green when he arrived on the scene as another unknown quantity and in that, I was in the company of the overwhelming majority of Rangers supporters, including the Rangers fan with the inside track on the new regime, Alistair McCoist.

But, as events unfolded I quckly turned against Craig Whyte – and I turned quicker than some – so events have also seen my attitude towards Charles Green and Imran Ahmad change – admittedly, probably more slowly than most.

The turning point for me came when that bluenose with the up close and personal view of the new regime, Alistair McCoist, endorsed Charles Green and Imran Ahmad and then urged Walter Smith to accept their invitation to become a director.

Only an idiot would have remained loyal to Craig Whyte long after the full extent of his chicanery was revealed. And only a fool would continue to question Charles Green and Imran Ahmad’s probity and commitment to Rangers, as the full extent and promised length of time of that commitment becomes known.

I am neither an idiot, nor a fool.

And for those who still question my track record, here is prediction to file away.

Before this whole sorry sordid affair is over, someone will hear the clunk of the Bar-L gates slam behind them. It may be Craig Whyte. It could be David Grier. Or perhaps, Gary Withey. Remember him?

I read this earlier and was in a state of ambivalence over whether to post it.

There's just so much ****ing wrong with it. As you say, he's sucking his own dick over posting something that was already in the public domain while AGAIN falling for another shyster despite spending months telling anyone who would listen that he was an outright crook.
