CONTEMPT OF COURT DANGER TO REGAN LOOMS

THE confirmation of the temporary licence to play, granted to Rangers by the Scottish Football Association, must now pass to a new Independent Appellate Tribunal.

And that will leave SFA chief executive Stewart Regan hoping the three man Tribunal â his own brainchild â is not too independent.

For it could see the Independent Appellate Tribunal overturn the carefully cobbled together deal â call it a stitch up, or a plea bargain if you like â between Stewart Regan and Charles Green, that Rangers accept an 18-month-long transfer ban.

Ah, the Independent Appellate Tribunal! Remember it?

I am sure the Learned Lord Glennie does. Just as I sure MâLord will be paying close attention to what happens inside the corridors of power on the sixth floor of Hampden in the next few days.

For powerful though those corridors may be, they do not carry the weight of the law of the land in the way the hallowed halls of Edinburghâs mighty, ancient scion of Scots Law, the Court of Session does. (watch out for those powerful corridors folks - they're everywhere!)

And it was when presiding in the Court of Session, the wise Lord Glennie decreed the transfer ban imposed on Rangers to be unlawful, according to the laws, statutes and Articles of Association of the Scottish Football Association, recently re-written on the orders of Stewart Regan, acting on the advice of Celticâs legal champion, the late Paul McBride QC.

The transfer ban, you may recall, was first imposed by an Independent Judicial Tribunal. It was a sentence which some believe came as a shock to Stewart Regan since he was aware there was no basis in the SFAâs rule book for such a punishment.

But if Regan hoped he would be set free from the dilemma created for him by the Independent Judicial Tribunal, when Rangers appealed to an Independent Appellate Tribunal, chaired by the eminent High Court Judge, Lord Carloway, he was wrong. The sentence was bafflingly confirmed.

It was only when Rangers exercised the right of every free-born Briton, by taking the matter to the law of the land that justice was both done and seen to be done when Lord Glennie overturned Lord Carlowayâs decision. (And now you face a longer transfer embargo - worked out well for you eh?)

Leading to Lord Carloway resigning from the so called taxi rank of independent men and woman who form the ranks of those Stewart Regan has appointed to act independently of the SFA when major decisions have to be taken.

One thing which the whole sorry affair has, however proved, is the new Stewart Regan inspired and hand picked Independent Judicial Tribunals and Independent Appellate Tribunals, are just that. (this is a mess of a sentence)

But what seems to have been forgotten is the second section of Lord Glennieâ Court of Session judgment. That is when he decreed the matter be sent back to an Independent Appellate Tribunal.

It must surely then be taken as read, Lord Glennie, sitting in the Court of Session, having declared the original transfer ban imposed on Rangers to be unlawful, that any attempt by any SFA appointed Independent Appellate Tribunal to re-impose such a ban, would be deemed an open defiance of Lord Glennie and a Contempt of Court.

Which is surely a point which must be giving Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan nightmares.

What must be giving him headaches too is the make-up of the SFA appointed Independent Appellate Tribunal and whether or not he should attempt to try and keep the names sitting on it on the Top Secret list.

Iâve got some advice for him on that score.

Donât even think about trying to apply the rules of the old Soviet Politburo to this matter of public interest. It didnât work before and it has even less chance of working this time. Even if it needs recourse to the Freedom of Information Act to name names.

Stewart Regan must also be pondering whether or not this new Independent Appellate Tribunal should be chaired by another Learned Judge, presuming he can find one who would be willing to go head to head with Lord Glennie, ignore the Court of Session judgment and run the risk of stepping into uncharted territory, the dock, charged with Contempt of Court.

For that would be professional suicide for any of Scotlandâs Learned Judges.

But should Stewart Regan decide to compromise and appoint an Independent Appellate Tribunal, headed by an eminent QC, then the Advocate in question would be in a similar situation of being asked, at worst to put himself on a Contempt of Court charge, or at best commit professional suicide.

A third option for Regan would be to stuff the Independent Appellate Tribunal with lay men who would have no professional price to pay. But if they ignore Lord Glennieâs Court of Session judgment and attempt to re-impose the transfer ban on Rangers, they would be just as liable to a Contempt of Court charge as any Judge or mâlearned friend. (a third option would be to give you a more serious punishment like banning your club from paying for a year)

What a pickle for Stewart Regan. What a guddle for the Scottish Football Assocation. What a dilemma for any Learned Judge or any of mâlearned friends.

Of course there is another course of action open to Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan. He could simply ignore Lord Glennieâs Court of Session judgment and with no recourse to any Independent Appellate Tribunal, take it upon himself to re-apply the transfer ban on Rangers which Lord Glennie has decreed is outwith the recently rewritten Scottish Football Association laws, statutes and Articles of Association.

But then it would be Stewart Regan who would be being bundled into the dock, charged with Contempt of Court. (Leggo in showing complete lack of understanding of the judicial system shocker!)

Unless of course, Stewart Regan has managed â in secret â to have those Scottish Football Association laws, statutes and Articles of Association, re-drafted again, this time to give the Independent Appellate Tribunal the power to re-impose the transfer ban on Rangers which he and Charles Green have agreed to, in what you can call either a stitch up or a plea bargain.

But there is no other outcome to this impasse. It will be interesting to see which road Stewart Regan and his increasingly ragged looking Scottish Football Association decide to travel down.

DAILY RECORD EDITOR SURRENDERS TO PETER LAWWELL

PETER LAWWELL is behaving more and more like The Great Dictator. Even though he doesn’t look like Charlie Chaplin.

Despite his Little Tramp-like baggy suit. (Says Leggo, sitting in his high rise flat in his pish stained pyjamas)

It is a measure of just how sure of himself, so confident the Celtic chief executive is of his power and complete control, that Peter Lawwell is now insisting on that control extending to the media.

For Peter Lawwell has no belief in a pluralist press. Peter Lawwell does not champion the cause of a free press.

It may be said by some that, by his latest action, Peter Lawwell is behaving in Stalinist style. Or at least a small time Stalinist.

However, Peter Lawwell’s timing has not been very good. It has not been very good at all. Perhaps all that shuttling up and down from Glasgow to London and back again with his begging bowl held out to Sky has muddled his mind. (Bitter about the new TV deal Leggo?!?)

And seeing as Peter Lawwell spent so much of that shuttling up and down from Glasgow to London and back again in the company of the Scottish Premier League chief executive, the mind numbing Neil Doncaster, there may be a case to be made for Peter Lawwell’s mind being muddled.

What Peter Lawwell did was to ban that old warhorse of a hack, the Daily Record’s frank, fearless and free Hugh Keevins, from Parkhead. (Rejoice!)

And he also made sure they knew at Radio Clyde, where auld Shug is the veteran broadcaster’s veteran, that they couldn’t get their most outspoken pundit into Parkhead on their press pass either.

But Peter Lawwell has been creeping about doing his dirty censorship work in the shadows.

Why?

Why is Peter Lawwell so keen to try and keep his banning of Hugh Keevins such a secret? Apart from the fact Peter Lawwell loves secrets and secret meetings, that is.

Could it be he may believe there are huge swathes of Celtic supporters out there who would rush to Hugh Keevins’ defence if they were made aware of the fact Peter Lawwell has banned my old press box pal, Shug? (I very much doubt it)

For the reason for the ban is, Peter Lawwell has taken exception to what Hugh Keevins wrote in the Record on Monday morning when he commented on Celtic’s Champions League chances, based on what he saw in the friendly against Inter Milan. (Or it might be that he, along with his fat slug of a boss, is determined to run down Scottish football at every opportunity)

Keevins declared that Peter Lawwell was starving manager Neil Lennon of the sort of resources needed for a serious assault on the Champions League.

Now I do not pretend to be a expert on all things Celtic these days, but I have many buddies – press pals and punters – who are and they take the same view as Keevins.

Maybe Peter Lawwell is going to take their season tickets off any Celtic supporters who agree with Keevins and who express that view vocally inside Peter Lawwell’s domain of Parkhead where his word is law. Written on tablets of stone of course.

Maybe the next step will be for Peter Lawwell, who is a member of the Scottish Football Association’s powerful Professional Game Board, to demand any reporter who is critical of any aspect of that wider domain of his, be banned from every ground in Scotland.

Dictators, when they remain unchallenged, get like that.

And Peter Lawwell, right now, stands unchallenged as the supreme ruler of all he surveys.

So shame on the Daily Record for the way that once proud defender of liberty and free speech, has reacted to Peter Lawwell’s dictatorial ban on Hugh Keevins.

Shame on the Daily Record’s pussy of an editor Allan Rennie and shame too on the Daily Record’s fervent Celtic fan of a sports editor, Austin Barrett, for allowing Peter Lawwell to trample all over what was once a mighty, a free and a campaigning newspaper.

As I said, editor Allan Rennie is a pussy. And it now looks as though sports editor Austin Barrett is no longer as still game for a fight as he once was.

For let me tell you a story of how it once was. A tale of what happened when I worked for the Sunday Mail and wee Jim McLean, then in his pomp, banned me from covering Dundee United matches at Tannadice.

The word from wee Jum to my gaffer, a proper sports editor, Alex Gordon, was that the Sunday Mail was welcome at Tannadice, but not David Leggat.

Big Alex’s reaction was to tell wee Jum that he may pick the Dundee United team, but as the paper’s sports editor, it was Alex Gordon’s decision who covered what.

The result was I was sent to Dundee United’s next home match and after I was photographed being refused entry, I paid in to the George Fox Stand and reported from there. If memory serves me well, I reported four of United’s home games in that way, plus around the same number of their away matches, where I had access to press facilities, before peace broke out.

That was the way it was done then.

But the past is, indeed, a foreign country.

In the present, within 24 hours of Peter Lawwell banning the Daily Record’s Hugh Keevins, Peter Lawwell snapped his fingers and summoned a reporter and photographer from the same paper to write a story and take a picture aimed at selling tickets for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier.

A stunt to use the Daily Record to make money for Celtic.

And what did the Daily Record’s pussy of an editor and its no longer still game sports editor Austin Barrett do? Why they snapped to attention, touched their forelocks and sent a reporter and photographer to do Peter Lawwell’s bidding.

It worked for Peter Lawwell too. For the power of the press helped boost the Parkhead attendance to an unexpectedly high 51,000. (52,000 actually)

And what did the pussy of an editor and his no longer still game sports editor do on Wednesday night? (Watched the Scottish champions play in Europe?)

Why, they meekly bowed to Peter Lawwell’s all powerful edict. They did not send Hugh Keevins to Parkhead with a photographer to record him being refused entry and then picture the old hack taking a pew in the Lisbon Lions Stand and reporting from there. (Maybe, unlike you, Keevins retains a degree of dignity)

Instead, they allowed Peter Lawwell to chose who was going to report on their narrow 2-1 victory over some Finnish minnows, which leaves Neil Lennon’s side’s Champions League chances in the balance.

Which was exactly the point Hugh Keevins made and which Peter Lawwell took so much exception to that he banned the old warhorse of a hack and broadcaster.

Peter Lawwell ordered the ban in an act of brazen dictatorship. But Peter Lawwell still needed the craven collusion of the no longer still game Daily Record sports editor, Austin Barrett and his pussy of an editor, Allan Rennie.

Expect the terrified timidity of this pair of pygmies to inspire Peter Lawwell to attempt to become even more of a Great Dictator. Complete with Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp-like baggy suit.

RANGERS HIT BY NEW EURO BAN

RANGERS are to be have another two years added to their existing-three-year European ban, following the fight between Moscow Dynamo supporters and Dundee United thugs at Tannadice last week.

And Rangers are also due to be hit by a whopping Â£1M fine by UEFA bosses.

UEFA are ready to swing into action after they were contacted by Peter Lawwell’s pal and ally, Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson, who had been told by Lawwell to point out the incontestable link between Rangers fans and Moscow Dynamo.

The clubs have a relationship dating back to 1945.

It is believed Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell, a man with close friends right at the top of the UEFA hierarchy, has whispered in the ear of some of his powerful pals that Rangers thugs were behind the violence.

Peter Lawwell and Stephen Thompson have come together to tell UEFA that Dundee United did most of the work behind the scenes to lobby support from other clubs to ensure that Rangers were frozen out of the SPL, leading to an attempt at revenge from Rangers casuals

And that this has led to Rangers fans in Moscow, Ayrshire, contacting Dynamo fans in Moscow, Russia and asking them to cause mayhem when they followed their team last week in order that Dundee United get hit with a heavy fine.

Peter Lawwell and Stephen Thompson have had to move quickly to heap the blame on Rangers to ensure there is no big fine from UEFA for Dundee United.

For any big fine would cripple Dundee United and possibly put the Tannadice club out of business.

Such is the state of Dundee United’s finances that their account and spending is being micro managed by their bankers, ironically the same Lloyds Bank which, when Celtic Trust founding board member Manus Fullerton had a top job there, did so much to try and put Rangers out of business.

Dundee United’s money matters, thanks to them helping freeze Rangers out of the SPL, are so bad they are trying to cover the cost of their trip to Moscow by charging travelling journalists an eye watering near Â£1,200 for one night in Moscow.

That has meant the Dundee Courier’s reporters are making their own travel arrangements and are not flying out with the team. The extent of chairman Stephen Thompson’s profiteering can be shown by the fact Courier journalists have managed to get a package for three nights at half the price Dundee United were attempting to extort from their newspaper for an overnight stay.

But now, thanks to help from Celtic’s Peter Lawwell, Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson is confident that his club can escape scot free, with Rangers supporters taking the blame for the running battles between United thugs and the visitors from Moscow. The Russian one that is, not the wee village in Ayrshire.

And with Peter Lawwell, a control freak if ever there was one, whispering his anti Rangers poison in the ear of his many cohorts inside UEFA, that will see Rangers being hit with a Â£1M fine, plus an extra two year Euro ban, meaning it will be five years before Rangers are allowed to play in Europe again.

Ironically a five year ban was believed to have been a figure talked about by another of Peter Lawwell’s gofers, Hibernian chairman and Scottish Football Association Main Board member, Rod Petrie.

Really, you could not make it up.

Except, I just have. Or at least, most of it.

It's a spoof. A bit of banter.

Except the stuff about Dundee United finances being micro managed by Lloyds Bank , chairman Stephen Thompson charging nearly Â£1,200 for press seats on the plane to Moscow, the Courier reporters making their own travel plans and Peter Lawwell’s gofer, Rod Petrie, talking about a five-year-Euro ban for Rangers.

JIM PARK SPARKS NEW SEASON TICKET CASH FEAR FOR FANS

FRESH fears are growing about alleged links between oft times proven liar Charles Green and the ace conman trickster who ripped off Rangers supporters’ season ticket money, Craig Whtye.

The fears have been sparked by new revelations that another dodgy businessman, Jim Park, who has links to Craig Whyte, has been called in by Charles Green to help him with Rangers money matters.

Is there no end to the people Charles Greens will do business with whose motives arouse suspicion among sound, sane, sensible and rational Rangers supporters?

Apparently not!

There was self confessed unreconstructed Celtic supporter, David Low, who Green went to for advice on how to attract investors, then denied any knowledge of, only for Low to come out in the papers with chapter and verse of his dealings with the discredited Rangers chief executive.

More recently there was the arrival on the scene – as predicted here months ago – of sleazy agent Paul Stretford, a man once banned for 18 months by the FA.

Now Green has hooked up with another shady character, Jim Park a bankrupt who went bust owing Â£11.5M.

And there’s more!

Park has a close business connection with the Craig Whyte family in the shape of his dad Tom.

Just how close is Jim Park to conman Craig Whyte?

As I remarked yesterday, you couldn’t make it up. But unlike my wee spoof yesterday, all of this is the hard factually based reality of what Rangers supporters are still having to deal with after Rangers were squeezed by Lloyds Bank, highjacked by Craig Whyte, messed with by under-three-investigations Duff and Phelps, before being handed over to oft times proven liar Charles Green.

Now onto this scene of shady characters, who could all have stepped out of a Damon Runyon yarn, comes Jim Park.

Jim Park’s business history is littered with fly-by-night operations and dissolved companies, all building towards his big bang, the collapse of his water cooler firm Powwow Water which cost 400 jobs when it went into administration in 2010, leading to administrators, the highly respected Deloitte firm saying the company’s financial information was wholly unreliable.

Wholly unreliable!

Craig Whyte is a conman, Charles Green is an oft times proven liar and now Jim Park is wholly unreliable.

Oh, and Jim Park's busted flush of a firm, Powwow Water had, again according to Deloitte, weak financial management and inadequate controls.

Yet Jim Park is the sort of man Charles Green wants to help Rangers. Help them where? Back into the financial grubber where Jim Park’s pal Craig Whyte left Rangers?

Jim Park is the sort of man Charles Green wants to do business with. But Jim Park is just the latest in a long line of men who Charles Green is happy enough to cut a deal with, but who he would prefer to keep hidden under a rock.

But now Jim Park has been outed and that's started the questions about Charles Green’s links with Craig Whyte – which he always denies – being raised again, with many remembering claims any season ticket money Charles Green raises is in danger of being funneled off to either Craig Whyte, so he can pay off his debt to Ticketus, or sent directly to Ticketus.

Or at least, some claim, the season ticket will be channeled from Charles Green through Zeus Capital and then on to Ticketus.

The emergence from the shadows of Jim Park, someone with such a dodgy record and with close links to Craig Whyte, only serves to fuel the belief there is a danger of Rangers supporters who hand over their season ticket money, being ripped off for a second successive season.

But Jim Park’s presence in the Blue Room does more than that. It also serves to highlight just how desperate Charles Green is becoming as he tries to attract new investors so he can keep his whole shaky scheme going long enough to figure out how he can turn the big and quick profit he promised anyone who invested.

But would any respectable, sound, sane and wise investor risk his cash when people such as Jim Park are on the scene?

I think not.

Those Rangers supporters who have not yet handed over their hard earned wages to Charles Green would do well to consider if, after Craig Whyte, they want another chancer such as Jim Park inside Ibrox.

And those Rangers fans who have already given Charles Green their money, must now be wondering just what Jim Park’s role is and if he – or indeed Craig Whyte and Ticketus – are going to be able to get their hands on the season ticket dough for a second successive season.

LAWWELL LINKS TO SPL LAWYERS, HARPER McLEOD

THERE may be some people out there who believe it is no co-incidence the only Scottish football governing body which is not indulging in a witch hunt against Rangers is the one Peter Lawwell has no influence over.

Thank goodness, the same people may even say, the Scottish Football League exists.

If only in order that it can provide a safe haven for Rangers while the crippled club attempts to recover from the devastation inflicted on it by Craig Whyte, plus the two bodies where Peter Lawwell is an influential power broker, the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Premier League.

And while the SPL and the SPL, where Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell's word is law after his swift climb to power since his pal Stewart Regan took over at Hampden, continue with their witch hunt against Rangers.

For the moment it is best to dwell on Neil Doncaster and they SPL and its seeming determination to strip Rangers of titles won fair and square out there on the field of play.

For the tentacles which stretch, not merely from Peter Lawwell’s citadel, the Celtic chief executive’s office inside Parkhead, but also allegedly from the actual Lawwell family home too, appear to reach every aspect of those being lined up to hunt down Rangers.

And so far, apart from a belated but nevertheless welcome intervention by David Murray, the only people standing tall for Rangers are their supporters.

At the weekend the three main fans’ bodies, the Rangers Supporters Association, the Rangers Assembly and the Rangers Trust, issued a joint communiquÃ© which questioned the use by the SPL of Glasgow lawyers Harper McLeod as the SPL’s chosen weapon of war against Rangers, pointing to its connections with Peter Lawwell and with Celtic.

At last the news of Harper McLeod’s history and connections with Cetic made it into the papers, weeks after they were first revealed here.

But the Triple Alliance of Rangers’ fans’ organisations did not go far enough in their statement.

Not nearly far enough.

They should have included in their statement – and thus forced papers to print the fact – that at the time my revelations of the link between Celtic and Peter Lawwell first appeared here, a glowing testament to the legal firm from none other than Peter Lawwell appeared on the Harper McLeod website.

Though of course it is natural for Peter Lawwell to have glowing words of praise for Harper McLeod.

For not only have Harper McLeod done sterling work for Peter Lawwell on behalf of Celtic. They have also employed a certain Nicola Lawwell, believed to be Peter Lawwell’s daughter.

Talk about keeping it in the family. In this case both the Lawwell family and the Celtic family.

However, what Peter Lawwell appears to be doing in what looks like using his influence to damage Rangers, may well appear to be understandable as far as some are concerned.

After all, Peter Lawwell is the chief executive of Celtic and as such, it is his job, his role in life, indeed perhaps even his reason for living, to do damage to Rangers.

But what about Neil Doncaster? He is the chief executive of the Scottish Premier League and therefore has neither an excuse nor a reason to want to do damage to Rangers.

Unless his reason for living is to do Peter Lawwell’s bidding.

But back to that joint statement from the Association, the Assembly and the Trust, the three main Rangers’ fans’ bodies. And the reason why they made it.

They issued their communiquÃ© simply because they felt somebody had to stand up and be counted. Somebody had to defend the honour of Rangers.

And it had become obvious to all that nobody inside Ibrox, other than Alistair McCoist, was going to stand up and be counted and defend the Rangers honour.

Instead of making his wild and completely unsubstantiated Bigots Blast rant, Charles Green should have been making just such a point as the fans made about the close relationship between Harper and McLeod, the SPL’s lawyers, Celtic and on a personal level, Peter Lawwell.

It might not have conned anyone into buying a season ticket, but it would have got the conflict of interest out there in to the public domain eight days sooner.

But the fact Charles Green did not do that and it was left to fans to lift the lid on Scottish football and the SPL’s shame, merely further underlined that Charles Green – like Craig Whyte before him – does not deserve to be the custodian of Rangers.

What the supporters achieved, but what Charles Green had no interest in doing, was to put the close relationship between Harper McLeod, Peter Lawwell and Celtic into the public domain by forcing newspapers to record the fact. It is now out there for all to see.

Here’s a wee question.

LAWWELL LINKS TO SPL LAWYERS, HARPER McLEOD

THERE may be some people out there who believe it is no co-incidence the only Scottish football governing body which is not indulging in a witch hunt against Rangers is the one Peter Lawwell has no influence over.

Thank goodness, the same people may even say, the Scottish Football League exists.

If only in order that it can provide a safe haven for Rangers while the crippled club attempts to recover from the devastation inflicted on it by Craig Whyte, plus the two bodies where Peter Lawwell is an influential power broker, the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Premier League.

And while the SPL and the SPL, where Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell's word is law after his swift climb to power since his pal Stewart Regan took over at Hampden, continue with their witch hunt against Rangers.

For the moment it is best to dwell on Neil Doncaster and they SPL and its seeming determination to strip Rangers of titles won fair and square out there on the field of play.

For the tentacles which stretch, not merely from Peter Lawwellâs citadel, the Celtic chief executiveâs office inside Parkhead, but also allegedly from the actual Lawwell family home too, appear to reach every aspect of those being lined up to hunt down Rangers. (What the ****? How did this imbecile ever get a job as a journalist?)

And so far, apart from a belated but nevertheless welcome intervention by David Murray, the only people standing tall for Rangers are their supporters.

At the weekend the three main fansâ bodies, the Rangers Supporters Association, the Rangers Assembly and the Rangers Trust, issued a joint communiquÃ© which questioned the use by the SPL of Glasgow lawyers Harper McLeod as the SPLâs chosen weapon of war against Rangers, pointing to its connections with Peter Lawwell and with Celtic.

At last the news of Harper McLeodâs history and connections with Cetic made it into the papers, weeks after they were first revealed here.

But the Triple Alliance of Rangersâ fansâ organisations did not go far enough in their statement.

Not nearly far enough.

They should have included in their statement â and thus forced papers to print the fact â that at the time my revelations of the link between Celtic and Peter Lawwell first appeared here, a glowing testament to the legal firm from none other than Peter Lawwell appeared on the Harper McLeod website. (And which of your many journalistic skills did you use to find this? Look at their website?)

Though of course it is natural for Peter Lawwell to have glowing words of praise for Harper McLeod. (Because they're good at their job?)

For not only have Harper McLeod done sterling work for Peter Lawwell on behalf of Celtic. They have also employed a certain Nicola Lawwell, believed to be Peter Lawwellâs daughter.

Talk about keeping it in the family. In this case both the Lawwell family and the Celtic family.

However, what Peter Lawwell appears to be doing in what looks like using his influence to damage Rangers, may well appear to be understandable as far as some are concerned. (Lawwell does not need to do anything to damage Rangers. ******s like you do a very good job of that on your own)

After all, Peter Lawwell is the chief executive of Celtic and as such, it is his job, his role in life, indeed perhaps even his reason for living, to do damage to Rangers.

But what about Neil Doncaster? He is the chief executive of the Scottish Premier League and therefore has neither an excuse nor a reason to want to do damage to Rangers.

Unless his reason for living is to do Peter Lawwellâs bidding.

But back to that joint statement from the Association, the Assembly and the Trust, the three main Rangersâ fansâ bodies. And the reason why they made it. (And is a conjunction David. There's no reason for this to be two sentences)

They issued their communiquÃ© simply because they felt somebody had to stand up and be counted. Somebody had to defend the honour of Rangers.

And it had become obvious to all that nobody inside Ibrox, other than Alistair McCoist, was going to stand up and be counted and defend the Rangers honour.

Instead of making his wild and completely unsubstantiated Bigots Blast rant, Charles Green should have been making just such a point as the fans made about the close relationship between Harper and McLeod, the SPLâs lawyers, Celtic and on a personal level, Peter Lawwell.

It might not have conned anyone into buying a season ticket, but it would have got the conflict of interest out there in to the public domain eight days sooner.

But the fact Charles Green did not do that and it was left to fans to lift the lid on Scottish football and the SPLâs shame, merely further underlined that Charles Green â like Craig Whyte before him â does not deserve to be the custodian of Rangers. (Is hounding Charles Green out of Ibrox your 'reason for living' Leggo?)

What the supporters achieved, but what Charles Green had no interest in doing, was to put the close relationship between Harper McLeod, Peter Lawwell and Celtic into the public domain by forcing newspapers to record the fact. It is now out there for all to see.

Hereâs a wee question.

RANGERS FANS BACK SCOTLAND SNUB

HANDS up all the Rangers supporters who would be delighted if no Rangers player ever played for Scotland again.

Thought so!

Such is the rancour, the animosity, the suspicion and, indeed, the pure bitter hatred which now exists between Stewart Regan, Peter Lawwell and Rod Petrie’s Scottish Football Association and Rangers, most Rangers fans who I’ve spoken to wish nothing but ill will on the SFA’s team.

That’s the nation’s side, the national team, Scotland.

It is the pretty pass that Regan, Lawwell and Petrie have brought the Scottish Football Association to.

Why, only a few weeks ago, the fiercely patriotic Lee McCulloch pulled out of an SFA publicity stunt in retaliation for yet another attack on the club he loves by the Regan-Lawwell-Petrie dominated SFA.

Now, with no Rangers man included in his squad for the friendly against Australia at Rod Petrie’s Hibernian’s Easter Road, Scotland manager Craig Levein, a man who has never shown much sympathy for Rangers in their plight, appears to have joined the Regan-Lawwell-Petrie cabal.

Of course Levein will deny it. But there isn’t a hack in the land who would testify against my assertion that Stewart Regan and Craig Levein have a closer relationship than is normal between an SFA chief executive and his employee, the Scotland manager.

For Stewart Regan and Craig Levein are bosom buddies!

No wonder Alistair McCoist expressed his disbelief that Craig Levein had chosen to leave Rangers left back Lee Wallace out of the Scotland squad.

Privately, McCoist may even speculate the reason was, Craig Levein was sending a message to Lee Wallace that, for as long as he stays with Rangers in the lower leagues, there will be no Scotland place for him.

And with a World Cup qualifying campaign – the road to Rio – due to kick off next month, that would mean no place on the Scotland plane heading for Brazil and the 2014 World Cup in under two years should the Scots qualify.

However, Lee Wallace can relax. For the way Craig Levein picks his squads, selects his teams, sets his tactics, plus his man management, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell of there being any road to Rio for Levein’s Scotland.

And it is sad to say all of Scotland’s failures will be met with roars of joy from the overwhelming majority of Rangers fans.

Sad because – and maybe Levein does not know this, though I am certain Regan doesn’t – no club has had more men called to serve the Scotland colours than Rangers.

That fact, plus the sheer Scottishness of those who supported Rangers in my younger days, meant them seldom missing a Scotland game at Hampden, plus saving for those Wembley weekends of yore.

In fact, there was even a time when the bulk of the 134,000 who crammed into the old Hampden was made up of Bluenoses who were more patriotic and louder in their support for Scotland, giving birth and voice to the Hampden Roar, than the Doh-A-Deer chirping Tartan Army.

Granted, those days are now long gone.

However, I do believe we are now moving into a new era of conflict between the Rangers support and the Scotland side and that the Lee McCulloch call-off has given us the first glimpse of the rancour and suspicion moving to inside the Ibrox dressing room.

If, for instance, after their long climb back to the top, Rangers, the club’s custodians and the team’s management, should choose to fill the bulk of their squad with non Scots, then that would surely meet with the approval of Rangers supporters.

And if any Scots who were signed, were prevailed upon to exercise their right of free choice to decide they did not wish to represent the Scottish Football Association of Stewart Regan, Peter Lawwell and Rod Petrie, then so much the better will be the attitude of the majority of Bluenoses.

Not that any Scot who will play for Rangers in the future would be missing anything.

For as long as his good pal Stewart Regan is his boss, Craig Levein will stay in his job as Scotland manager. And for as long as Craig Levein remains as the Scottish Football Association’s team’s manager, Scotland are going nowhere.

Rangers have a long climb in front of them. But the Regan-Lawwell-Petrie Scottish Football Association team, Scotland, has, under Craig Levein, even further to fall.

Hands up those Rangers supporters who would be pleased to see that happen?

Leggo hates the "doh a deer" crowd.

My dad said that Scotland fans at Hampden used to sing the sash and the few Celtic players that were chosen were frequently booed.

In my lifetime, this doesn't happen - going to see Scotland is a brilliant experience these days and Glasgow feels a lot more together when we're playing at home.

Leggo wants to go back to the ol' days.

No blacks
No dogs
No Irish

I sincerely hope all fandans like this do desist from following Scotland - it's my (foreign name included) country and, by ****, it's not yours anymore <upyeez>
