Who moons ago caused such a stir,
With Huddersfield Town, up there 'mongst the cream
Have been reignited to spur...
..a failing and flailing green and yellow camp
Who, for years, have lacked what it takes,
When faced with a potential premier league ramp
To force it, and turn off the brakes
We're often too good for Championship teams
But have hardly ever, enough,
When faced with the chasm that lies in between
And find the going more than rough
One would have thought now, after so many tries
That someone would have found the key,
If only by using one's ears and one's eyes
To the PL, and longevity
Brentford have shown, against odds of all kinds
Some extraordinary tenacity,
And now have a club of premier league minds
As they continue climbing the tree
Webber and Wagner just could be the trick
But lightning, after once striking well,
Does rarely again give the same sort of kick
Or deliver the same magic spell.
