Just heard it on SSN. "D J Campbell will be playing his football at Loftus Road this season." Does that mean we have to sign someone else for the away games?
QPRupNorth: Big up for the well advanced notice you gave us of DJC's transfer to the Rs. You WERE right after all!! I would point out that you said you got the info back then from your neighbour and DJ's girl who was certain he was LR-bound months ago. When it appeared to be a non-starter, you came back on assuring us it was still a goer and I was one of those who rubbished you. So here I am chewing on humble pie! The upshot of this transfer for you was the promise of a day out, coutesy DJC, at LR meeting the team etc.. Hope it comes true (and that DJ scores the winner that day) and that you also get to see that West End show you spoke of. Good luck mate.
Northholt i know DJ loves the club it will be interesting to see if we do go down next season if he will stay with the club, whats the bet their is a clause in his contract that he can leave if we are relegated.
Don't get me wrong I think he's a decent signing, but are people getting a little carried away with him? He's only had one semi decent season where he scored 13 goals in 30+(?) games and everyones raving as if we've just signed Hernandez? He played 40 odd times at Leicester and scored 4-5, 40+ times at Brum and scored 8-9, not exactly prolific and that was in the lower leagues. There's a fair chance he'll turn out to be a one season wonder. No doubt he's better than what we've got(not hard with Helguson, Hulse, Clarke...), but I'm not expecting 20 goals from him, or anywhere near that mark really. WANT_CLEAN_SHEETS_SIGN_GOOD_DEFENDERS
It's nice to have another option up front but I'm not convinced he is top level. Remember Blackpool played kamikaze football so he would get a lot of scoring chances, we certainly won't be so he's gonna need to be a lot sharper when chances come along. If we make a decent start and he bags a few he'll hopefully ride along on confidence. At £1.25 million I think it's a good deal despite my reservations.
Lets face facts. Campbell to us IS Hernandez to the knobs. Has to be a good buy or good bye to us in many ways.
In the Championship yes, albeit I think most will agree we rode our luck and the woodwork seemed to have a crush on Kenny last season. But the same back line in the Prem is going to be exposed. Not sure where WANT_GOALS_SIGN_GOOD_STRIKERS is, hope he's doing ok though.
I'm even more intrigued than before as to how we are going to line up. What formation and which players where within it? Maybe Luton on Friday night will give us a clue.

Of course people get carried away, ABITB, its par for the course on here. However, his record at Blackpool last season was 1 in 2 starts and that's good. The problem is (re Sooperhoop above) is our style of play is far less attack minded than Blackpool's was, therefore less chances hence less goals. Still, better than nowte.
Agree with Superhoop: it is great to see another local lad on the books but I just wonder if he will end up being another Dexter for us. Really nice bloke, scored a few but... We certainly don't play the same buccaneering style as Blackpool so the chances will be less frequent. And can he score with his head? Still, beggars can't be choosers and this is a steal by PL standards. Come on DJ!
