haha sorry mate. You're wrong about the history though. We were a catholic club & you were the heathens back in the day. Nowhere near the kind of levels we're talking about North of the Border, but nonetheless, that's how it was.
You're wrong Tobes(and i'm surprised you don't know your history), both club were founded by protestants, our relationship with Celtic blossomed because of the friendship between Big Jock and Shanks in the 60s.
I'm not wrong mate. St Domingos was methodist, Houlding was an orangeman. However, I'm not talking about founders nor about 'special relationships'. I'm talking about the fanbases, Everton historically (for whatever reason) was viewed as the catholic club.
It was viewed as catholic because of the support from Vauxy and Scottie, but i know blues that were brought up on Netherfield Rd that say they never saw it that way and there was plenty of support for Everton there, it's just debatable history with no concrete proof either way Tobes.
he's right that we've always that a connection with Celtic rather than Rangers though. I can't stand either of them myself anyway though. Only premier league club Rangers have a connection with is Chelsea, and I'm not sure that many Chelsea fans care anymore.
I can't argue there mate tbh, I was brought up Catholic so that's how my view on it was formed, as my entire family without exception are all Blues & I was always told we were the 'catholic club' back in the day. But I know it's a matter of conjecture.
That's the point though Shog's, the Everton/Celtic connection is one way(ie blues who's 2nd team is Celtic but not the other way around)whereas plenty of Celts have Liverpool down as their 2nd team, which is as i said earlier is only down to the friendship of Stein and Shankly and the friendship shown by Celtic in the wake of Hillsborough. Anyway back on topic, when are you shysters gonna pay Green what you owe him.
not quite right mate, the most popular Celtic forum backs it up http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/showthread.php?t=121359 .
When I was a kid, my aunties had me down for being the family priest ffs! Unfortunately for them, I developed a love of ale & shagging & then decided at 15 that I was an aethist
So you base your findings on the vote of 70 members Celtic website. Jeez Shog's you'd make a good poitician.
To be fair you said that most would have Liverpool as their second team, whereas Everton have twice as much on that. Even if it is only 70 Wo have voted, it's not like it's five or six difference.
I'm a founder member of the Michael Davitt CSC Liverpool Shog's, we started a Liverpool/Everton Celtic supporters club in the early 90's and i've seen 1st hand many times whats i'm talking about.
Just had a glance on the Liverpool board Sneijder signing Guardiola a possibility Guardiola just as unproven as Rodgers
and now Brendan is going to punish him suggesting that he is being punished for admitting to it rather than the act itself. Do they even have a PR department?
They're lacking a PR guru at present, so he's probably come up with that one himself! He needs a PR 'filter' does our Brendan, as his gob is an accident waiting to happen.
Suits the club TBH gone right down hill...Their board Is full of United controlled media shoite at the moment they are the only fans that seem to think so and still Insist on calling Everton fans Bitter they are the only bitters from where I am standing? There will be some slit wrists over there when Utd get their 20th title lol...
