    I don't think you have.

I've never seen anyone state Grayson's qualities, people usually state his shortcomings yet still reach the conclusion that he's a good manager.

Neil Kilkenny was always willing to recieve a pass and then pick out the right one. He allowed us to keep possession and kept things ticking over in midfield.

He's the sort of player you miss when he's not there. We struggled when he was away with Austrailia and we've hardly started this season on fire.

Howson was a regular under Wise and McAllister and it was Macca who first made him captain. And if you think making Howson a regular makes him a good manager, then how can making Howson a substitute also make him a good manager?

Just like Grayson, you don't seem to know what tactics are.

We failed to get promotion once before Grayson arrived, then he himself failed. And Grayson signed many players far worse than those you mentioned.

Well I seem to remember doing so and it's your prerogative to look it up.

So he did the sort of thing any Championship midfielder should be able to do then? Pick out a pass. He created the odd attack, but was far too static to have any real effect on games. I'm not bothered about all this patient 'ticking over' stuff; we play best when we're dynamic and forward-thinking rather than boring, brooding and retentively Barca-like. I'm glad the Aussie whiner's moved on.

Grayson is the gaffer, you can see his hunger for Leeds in the way he kicks every ball in his head when he is watching.

His transfer policy has been a little strange, but I honestly think he wants to sign good players and the Chairman has not always backed it up. He got Charlie Adam performing at Blackpool on loan and tried to get him for Leeds when he joined. He wanted James Macarthur before Wigan snapped him up. I think in hindsight we could have backed him a bit more.

Don't forget he dropped from a team he had built at Blackpool in the Championship to join Leeds in League One.
He then watched the players he had developed at Blackpool push on to the Premiership.

He has developed players at Elland Road and started sending players out on loan for their long term development (which we are now reaping the rewards of).

Simon is a Leeds lad who has come back to help build Leeds United up. We need to get behind him and the team.

Kilkenny moved on to a bigger club (like Kasper, Gradel, Beckford, Robinson, Somma and many many more before him) - get over it!

Robinson was released by us and when he did make the rare appearence in league one it was via sub, Somma is injured not sold, Kasper was on a 1 year contract and we received 1m with 200k spent on Loners who has been one of our best if not our best player this season, and Kasper leaked alot of goals like the free kick vs Barnsley. All he had to f*cking do was move slightly to his left and put his hands up and it was saved, 3 points instead of 1 and on the verge of getting into play offs, instead he was an arrogant twat and through a paddy with the defence and washed his hands of the blame, although you should no that TC since your such a big Leeds fan and go to every game and know so much more about our own players or ex players who have signed for new clubs and played for like 2 games.

Btw Killkenny went because Leeds aren't delusional enough to pay a league one player, upper championship wages so he went to a club which was. 7th>15th, 40,000>21,000>, European Cup finalists 1975 and Champions League semi finalists 2000 and Champions of England 3 times> Premier League runners up 1907 and FA cup runners up 1908, highest average attendance in football league and championship> 18th highest average attendance in championship.....see where i'm going?

Clive, I know you're just a WUM & I'm probably wasting good typing time, but I thought I'd chip in with a few comments of my own. Kilkenny, was a lazy good for nothing excuse for a footballer. He played in midfield, & yes he can pick a pass. But he can't tackle, can't chase, harry, or head. Even in the glory glory side of the 70s we had players who could pick a pass from 60yrds or so. Difference is, they could also tackle. Johhny Giles wasn't the biggest player ever to play for Leeds, but at least he made the effort to try & compete for headers. Kilkenny was a waste of space.

The subject of BJ has been mentioned. True, when BJ played, the safest place to be was the first 6 or so rows of the stand behind the goal & the least safest, the top 10 tiers of the stand behind the goal. But at least he put in a shift, broke up attacks, & occasionally scored. I for one was disappointed to see him go. But I think we've moved on & bettered ourselves.

No go away & bother another board.

'Kept things ticking over'...so basically that means he had no direct influence on the game. He only allowed us to keep possession because he always played an easy pass - I'm not saying that's a bad thing but it is when that's all he does. He didn't offer anything in defence, was so slow, weak and couldn't keep up with anyone and he didn't offer anything in attack.

You look at Howson, even though he doesn't make a direct impact on the game when he plays in CM - due to his lack of defensive qualities - he does have the ability to take the ball past people, run with it, pick a pass or shoot in the final third. Kilkenny simply didn't offer anything attack wise or defensively.

Just a vote for me that I too was glad when Kilkenny left... When you think back about how or what you remember about past Leeds players I remember Kilkenny as someone who lost the ball a lot and sulked, screamed and threw a tantrum when he did so.

Kilkenny had great vision and was adept at keeping possession, but he was a bottling little bastard who constantly blamed others for his own glaring midfield deficiencies, and I`d wager his teammates were glad to see the back of the whining little ****.
