ChiloSaint/TSS do you remember if that was THE game where Dennis Hollywood nearly castrated Mike Summerbee? As I remember it, he flew in to the tackle with both feet about 3 foot off the ground and caught Summerbee a-mid-ships. Summerbee eventually recovered but never came near Hollywood again, thought it was a fair tackle myself, but I am slightly biased? When you think of some of our team of that era [i.e Gabriel, McGrath, Docker Walker, Brian O'Neill, Hollywood and Paine] no wonder a lot of teams didn't fancy the trip down South?
Chilco, my first game, I was 6 and used to go on my Dad's shoulders or he'd sit me on the barriers. When got my first season ticket at about 11 or 12, unused to be queuing outside the gates of the family centre and go in with a wooden box to stand on. Soon realised that standing in front of a barrier was better as you didn't get crushed. I think the turnstiles opened at 1:15pm
