We've made the small signings and tomorrow we will spend silly money so strap yourselves in.

Not worried but taken from daily mail transfer deadline day feed....

Spurs launch £15m to sign Ayoze Perez from Newcastle
ADAM CRAFTON:
Tottenham Hotspur have launched a last-gasp attempt to sign forward Ayoze Perez from Newcastle.

The Spaniard was a shining light during Newcastle's dismal campaign last season and Spurs are understood to have made contact with the North East club over the weekend.

Newcastle have not provided any indication that they will sell the player but Tottenham and intermediaries are continuing to explore the possibilities.

They can go get f**ed

Can see a deal being done for £10m plus Townsend.
We can then use that cash for Austin.

Austin and Townsend in for Perez would be good business lads.

I see Sunderland have just paid ten million for Liverpool's twentieth choice striker.
The one who told them twice he didn't want to join them under any circumstances?

We paid 7.75m upfront, potentially rising to 10m. Don't mind them deals because if we end up paying the 10m then he's been worth it <ok>

Borini told Sunderland that he wanted to play Champions League football at Liverpool, rather than return to the Stadium of Light, where he was crowned the Young Player of the Season during his loan stint in 2013-14.

Yet Borini is understood to have subsequently changed his agent and he has hinted that was the reason why his move fell through last summer and why he has now finally returned to Sunderland, despite interest from Inter Milan, Fiorentina and West Ham.

“It’s the perfect time to come back,” he told the club website.

“In the past, people have written a lot, but it was a situation out of my control.

“I wasn’t in a position to make any decision, but here I am.

“As people have read, there were a lot of clubs interested in me, but I’m here at Sunderland because I want to be here.

“Also my wife is very happy to be here. She was probably the most happy person that I came back!

“It’s good to have a person here like Erin to be supporting me in this.

“I’m here to stay here and play for Sunderland, because I’m proud to wear the shirt.

“This club is the biggest one up north and hopefully we can have a successful season, because we all want that.”

Borini joined Sunderland on a season-long loan on the summer transfer deadline day of 2013 after his first year at Liverpool had been wracked by injury problems.

After forcing his way into the starting XI under Gus Poyet, he proved to be a key figure in Sunderland’s escape from relegation and march to the Capital One Cup final, where he opened the scoring at Wembley.

“It’s a place that I called home and I tweeted good things about Sunderland during my time year,” he added.

“I said a piece of my heart was always here when I scored at Wembley.

“I’ve come back here to get that piece.

“It was great because I came here after a season of injuries and we had a successful season - we stayed up, went to Wembley for the first time in a long time and I scored important goals.

“I’m very happy to come back.”

Would hate to see Perez go. Especially to a team like Spurs where he will most likely rot i the reserves, be loaned out tothe Championship and eventually sold to a second tier Spanish side after his potential has been crushed.

15m is a lot of money for Perez....just saying

Hopefully we'll add as a minimum a left back, hopefully a centre back. And in ideal world a striker and ball playing midfielder :emoticon-0140-rofl: I expect no more signings. We can't whinge with the money spent, even if I do think it could have been used more wisely.

The money is obscene. I'm sure the French lad is very good (certainly the little I've seen he looks **** hot), but 36m...crazy. Sunderland paying almost 8m up for Borini!! Rising to 10m. Beggars can't be choosers but Liverpool have done extremely well there. Not to mention the fact that he has beating them off with a ****ty stick long enough. He must have had zero options and knew he was done at Liverpool. Bottom line is though Sunderland are desperate. In that situation you don't have a choice over money or how much a player wants to be there. That carefully structured media piece that SAFC83 just posted is sickly beyond belief <laugh> If they do go down, a lot of fans will point to the signings of him and Kaboul as everything wrong with the club.
