One thing it did prove we need people who can defend, Morrison and Nelson are two slow, and it showed on saturday with their performance Nelson cant pass, and im sorry to say but our captain has had his day, he has been a good servant to this club but i think it is time for younger players .
So bye bye, playoffs now pie in the sky....???
Not seen any of the highlights yet but sounds like poor 1st half again but could/should have taken something if not for the sending off.
We are way too reliant on big Keifer though it does sound like Harris and Davis made decent, if temporary impressions on the game (ie they ran out of steam).
Regards how quiet we all are... I'm guessing that it's hard to get excited and enthused when the team keep taking one step forward and then one back in terms of results and to some degree performances.
If we could get on a three/four game winning run then I think we could then see confidence build all around at the club...
Maybe Santa will bring us what we want and need in the new year eh?

Watching the PL teams zipping it around over the weekend brought it home how many light years we are away from teams who we were playing not that long ago in the Championship. Depressing

In saying that though... Taking the glass half full approach I'd also look at Wednesday, Charlton, Pompey, Wigan, Sunderland, Ipswich and Bolton as teams that we've likewise had many encounters with that are still languishing below us, despite our shortcomings in recent years.I made my points not long after coming home and elaborated on the transfer window thread.

Can't argue with your comments on Morro and Nelson. It has been evident all season.
In the end we were beaten down the wings with Sheffield passing and passing until they got a spare man, then were very clinical in their finishing.
We actually tightened up through the middle when Flint came on. He blocks and clears well but like Nelson his passing is poor.
Maybe it's time to give the lad Denham/Denman (can't recall his correct name) a start in the league. Alongside Flint and McGuinness it would give us more pace at the back.
However we still have other weaknesses to make improvements, full back, creative midfield and a second striker with pace.
Our youngsters have done well and are good future prospects but we can't throw them all into a struggling side.
The club has to find a way to make improvements in January, whether that is via loans or somehow funded purchases and disposals.
It is certainly not all doom and gloom. The right acquisitions with more gradual introduction of our good youngsters will give us a brighter second half to the season.
P.S. Apart from Leeds, Hull and the Wurzels our board is as active if not more so than other Championship boards. 50% have no activity at all. Boring tw@ts.
