Well, I have got there. It took a while, but this headline "David Moyes says he was planning to stay at Everton next season but could not turn down the chance of becoming Manchester United manager" got me there. Why, David? What couldn't you resist? The hordes of "God-given-right-to-win-things fans? The "local" support in Thailand? The fact that you can buy the best player of your close rivals, when you want? Does not matter to me what the reasons were, his annoying deadpan stare is already starting to irritate. A worthy successor indeed.
I actually know David Moyes and have done since we attended the same school in Dunbartonshire. He was/is a decent chap who always struck me as being serious for the vast majority of the time. He is a class manager and I am pleased that he has been given the top job in management. His father was always involved in football and it was no surprise that David and his brother were top sportsmen. One thing not many people know about Moyes is that whilst he played football for Celtic and his father was close to many Celtic people, he is a massive Rangers supporter who regularly traveled to Ibrox with friends from Bearsden. Good luck to him, hope he takes the Scotland job in about 10 years time.
I can well understand that Boab. If there's a point to my thread (my tongue has been firmly in my cheek throughout it), its to express my annoyance that our dear friends in Manchester have appointed someone so capable and lacking in any qualities Leeds fans can find to take exception to. Hence my point we will need to work hard at hating this one. As I think I may have posted, if the fortunes of Leeds had been very different to the present, I would have loved to have had him as Leeds manager.
It keeps getting better. So he's now a rangers fan managing scum. What a wonderful mixture. Two clubs that bought every piece of silverware they ever got and with varying degrees of legality. Hate him already
