FALLING PETALS for me mate. Well regarded, very positive debut and can make the experience count. Cheers Boris
Having watched that Ascot race, there is very little to choose between Falling Petals and Golden Zephyr and it wouldn't be a major surprise to see that form reversed on a similar surface. However, that was Ascot on GS and this is a different kettle of fish on the AW Polytrack, which runs fast. Horses that succeed at Kempton are fast stayers; those who can hit the pace from the off and maintain it till the finish (so I read). First thought is to throw the form book out the window. Newcomers aside, which of these two is the most likely to benefit from a switch to the Polytrack? Well I thought I was being a little bit clever by concluding that, as Ravens Pass had won the Breeders Cup Classic in record time and the dam side was all American, it was cut and dried. But then I did more research and discovered that the Breeders Cup Classic at Santa Anita was run on dirt and that a horse's feet react differently on dirt and synthetic surfaces. On dirt tracks the horse's foot slides forward on hitting the surface (quite noticeably) whereas on synthetic surface the slide is minimal. So there you have it. I haven't a f**king clue. Good luck stick and boily and anyone else betting in that race.
Well Dalmatia was 20-1 2nd. She won't be that price next time out. Well done to boil on napping a 10-1 first time outer.
