I'm not afraid of Cock, Bodi.

(And before the usual scroats turn up with their limited stock juvenile comments, yes, I am aware of the connotations in what I just wrote, which was, in fact, my intention for comedic purposes. I apologise to the lads for having to state the bleeding obvious, but I am being careful not to over-excite a certain OCD-driven Arsenal supporter, whom I shall not mention, who takes everything I write literally, and who fails to comprehend my humour, even when it takes a running-kick to his bollocks.)

Eddie Howe for next Arsenal manager...

That's where all the clever money is going.

How long do you think he'd last in that job, lads?

Match of the Day presenter and Leicester City fan Gary Lineker believes Foxes striker Jamie Vardy would "walk" into Arsenal's team. The 29-year-old rejected a move to London in the summer. (Daily Mirror)

Ouch!
<whistle>

The Football Association is expected to make an approach for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, 66, with a view to him becoming the new England boss. (Evening Standard)

Dark days ahead for Arsenal.

Should this happen then good for him......I just don't understand why the FA, media and everyone wants him for England though since they all slate him off for not being good enough right now for Arsenal and won't win anything, surely that's not what's wanted by the national team as well!

... in fairness, he is hugely over qualified for the England job .... he has won a considerable number of trophies ... <laugh>

I think the media hacks sense that the old fossil is no longer able to cut it in the EPL, but is more than sufficient to carry out the perfunctory job of handling England's mediocre expectations. He might just as well win nothing for England as continuing to win nothing for Arsenal.

That's my take on it, all wumming aside.
<ok>

The FA want Wenger for the England job. However, the Gunners are ready to fend off the FA by offering Wenger a new two-year contract. (Daily Mirror)

This news is going to outrage Pixie.

He used to be a staunch Wenger-ite, but turned against him during the course of last season and admitting that it was time for the old dinosaur to leave the club. Another two years of never winning the league and getting completely humped in Europe is not going to appease his growing sense of grievance, I suspect.

Arsenal's Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil, 27, is hoping for a move back to Real Madrid. (Bild - in German)

Ouch!

This is like rats deserting a sinking ship!

Was reading yesterday that he is about to sign a new contract and take the number 10 shirt. Got to love sports news pages when there's nothing actually going on for them to report on!

Well he seems to cut far more than all the managers Spuds have over the years, also won far more.

He will have to learn from the likes of you I guess of never winning anything worthwhile, like the league!

It's a sign of the times. The media hacks used to report silly stories about Spurs in the hope that it might unsettle us, but they now realise that Spurs is a side in the ascendency and that there is absolutely no point in suggesting that anyone associated with the club wants to leave of his own volition.

These days, the pick on Arsenal.

I nearly choked on my coffee, how did you come to the conclusion Spuds are a side in the ascendency? Anything recent to back that up with like maybe winning the league or overtaking you neighbour (Arsenal)? failed on both counts <whistle>:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Spurs fans will be devastated ... Spurs have never finished above Arsenal whilst Arsene Wenger has been in charge ... looking like no Norf Lunnon Power Shift until the 2019/20 season at the earliest then? ...

Nor have they won anything worthwhile whilst he has been in charge, whilst at the same time he has won lots for Arsenal....Forever in Arsenal and Arsene's shadows!

I think the hacks smell blood. Don't forget it was they who reported on the North London Power-Shift (even though I held strong reservations). You get the feeling that they are sensing something is about to happen.
