Your argument also says that you would see young boys as more successful than half of Europe this season

 

Young Boys won a trophy so it is your argument that says they have achieved more than Liverpool or Spurs. Measured by trophies they will be ahead of one of us. Measured by anything else they are an also ran. The Europa is a bit of a special case but it is quite clearly the second division in Europe, you even get promotion to the top division by winning it.

What’s actually happening here is that Spurly knows either Arsenal or Chelsea are going to win a European trophy this season.

It could also transpire that Spurs win nothing, Arsenal win a pot and Chelsea finishing higher in the league meaning that Spurs end up bottom of the pile.

So he’s trying to get the excuses in early that losing a CL final is somehow better than all of the above
