Getting relegated to the championship is a lower achievement than remaining in the PL.
But winning the championship is a better achievement than finishing 14th in the PL.
Its a stupid metaphor though, since the championship doesn't have premier league opposition dropping in to it mid season

You didn't spot the 'then' in my post? The Europa is a fine competition for those not good enough to be in the Champions League. Just like the Championship is a fine competition for those not good enough to be in the Premier League. It should be obvious to anyone that coming second in the Premier league is a bigger achievement than winning the Championship and coming second in the Champions League is a bigger achievement than winning the Europa.

 

Coming second in anything is no achievement whatsoever.....
If you are going to ask who is the better team, Norwich or Liverpool, then the answer is Liverpool.
If you are going to ask which team achieved more, the answer in Norwich, they won something, Liverpool didn't. (until they tan your arses in the CL final anyway).

Completely different analogy. The Olympics has always celebrated Gold, Bronze and Silver. In football you either win a trophy or you don't.

When finishing second, the team wins **** all. The individual players get a runner up medal, but the team wins **** all......

You havent even lost yet, you may yet win.
Stop making excuses for a loss you havent even incurred yet, it will make your team seem less pathetic.

A lot of sporting events have B finals or plate events for those who didn't qualify for the main finals. No-one thinks winning those is better than being in the main final.
