It's why we play great attacking football...there's no buses in North London.

It's him kicking someone in the face and getting sent off, complete with French commentary mentioning Sadio Mane! <laugh>

I knew he'd be a good fit :bandit:

Tbh I hope he brings some bite to our midfield. What I've seen of him I like a lot.

  12. Anyone mention Hoddle?

It was losing to Saints that did for him. I was at that game.

  15. So was I at all three!

From what I remember, two of the matches were very close together - one on Boxing Day, and one early in the New Year. One of those was, of course, a cup match.

I can't remember which game it was - probably the one early in the New Year - but we were absolute ****e! Only Carr turned up for us that day. The rest of the team simply couldn't be arsed.

We beat you 1-0 on new years day in a tight game at St Marys. James Beattie skinned Dean Richards for the goal. The following Saturday we beat you 4-0 in the fa cup. Jo Tessem I think got the 1st, Anders Svenson and James Beattie scored the last two. Dunno who got the 2nd. Then we beat you 3-1 I think, at WHL around April. Kevin Phillips got two of those I think. That's all off the top of my head, so I could be wrong.

My abiding memory of Glenn Hoddle is framed by those 3 games - I watched him play a few times, & he was a sublime footballer, but mention his name and I see him looked baffled and confused, on the touchline with his head bowed and one hand over his face, as Saints fans sang "you're getting sacked in the morning".

Michael Svensson got the first of the 4, then the rest is right, except Beattie got 1. Great game too, think it was my first fa cup game I went to.

The start of our road to Cardiff <ok>

I went to all those cup games, including Millwall away, with my dad and my son. Happy days, great memories.

    Shame about the final though.
