I remember that one thing of note, a decent goal when we got hammered 6-2 by Man U. Watch his face and he had that look of “look at how special I am, bow before my greatness” total arrogance. Ridiculous considering he was part responsible for the hammering itself and barely did anything else in his entire time here. Went on to be even more anonymous at a bang average Spurs.
Decent player. Such a shame he never fulfilled his potential. Robson's sacking didn't help as he was the main reason he signed. However he just never really progressed. I suspect he needs to look closer to home in that him, Dyer, Bellamy etc were spending way too much time partying rather than trying to become the best player they could. To try and say it was down to his time here is comical. If anything he was playing with a better standard of player at his clubs. Most club sides would rinse England with minimum fuss.
Jenas was a plum while playing and even worse now he's a pundit - same vein as Owen, can't keep his mouth shut when it comes to NUFC although they never got the club, area, fans, passion needed to play or do well here. Average at best and thinking he was above anyone level, in any regard, at NUFC is delusion grandeur.
Thankfully Shearer has attempted to put him in his place. The no-mark isn't even worthy his own thread, average footballer...**** pundit....next ?
had every chance , just not that special as people thought he was going to be . needs that ,bloke off beetlejuice to shrink t,hat big head of his.
So did Supergran back in the day but I wouldn’t want that old Scottish had anywhere in my field of vision.
Favourite memory of mine for Jenas was on his first, I think, return with Spuds and he went round our goalkeeper in front of the Gallowgate and then managed to fall over and put the ball wide with an open net in front of him. Boy, did the Gallowgate laugh.
Jenas was a decent young footballer, but never progressed beyond that level. I think he's quite fortunate Spurs like wasting money, because he wouldn't have stood out in the Championship. He was never a leader on the pitch to at least part-justify his averageness in all the other departments, either. I'm shocked he is a pundit now, because just like his playing days, he has nothing of value to contribute.
