Does the club get more money from the ECB? Do they get higher attendances ?

And you have a chance, no matter how unrealistic, of actually being able to win the title!
(But prize money wise, you do actually get more for winning D2 than finishing in any of the bottom four positions in D1. Which I have long since disagreed with)
Not sure that argument about Vince holds water. He's been talking to Essex. Anyway, you get caught into the old trap of having too good a player and they bugger off with England for weeks. Play better teams, maybe. Certainly more test venue teams. Attendances probably go from 250 to 255 for a regular county game.
If Lancashire beat Warwickshire, Hampshire are down if they don't win. ( From the BBC ) . It's the other way round isn't it ?:

If we win we stay up, that's always been the case. If Warwickshire lose, which is all but impossible now, we only need a draw.
Should be a straight fight now then between Middlesex and Yorkshire, with that bonus point for Yorkshire. Literally winner takes all. Somerset need this game to finish draw, but there's no logical reason (unless the weather intervenes) why it would finish a draw. Either Middlesex get bowled out and Yorkshire win by an innings, or Yorkshire chase down whatever they are set, or Yorkshire get bowled out attempting to chase down whatever they are set.
Because tea was taken at the change of innings, no overs were lost for that. So a mammoth 47 over session awaits us, so long as the light holds.
Go at 5 an over (which might be wishing too much?) gets us 235, a lead of 285. Not enough to declare at.
Weird feeling this. Losing these wickets makes it bleak for setting Durham a decent score, with a decent number of overs left. But losing these wickets also gives hope that spin is becoming increasingly important, and actually eeking our way up to a 230 lead might be enough.
I think it's more to do with the fact we're looking to smack the ball to all parts of the Ageas Bowl.
Maybe, but it sound like only Adams gave his wicket away and these other three wickets have all been from Pringle bowling the guys out.
Middlesex are playing for pride. Just bat all day tomorrow guys with Compton, if possible, reaching 100 as the clock strikes 5. If Yorkshire win, I will feel desperately sad for Somerset, but it just shows that to win the title you need to be battled hardened. And they are. Some on here may know I support Middlesex, but in all honesty, a title this time round may have flattered them. And watching Compton bat just kills the game for the paying public. Mind you I would like hi to be bloody minded now and into tomorrow.
