That's a bit harsh I think, but hopefully we can find another opener from somewhere. How about getting Ben McKinney of Durham if they go down? Middleton's fast becoming the new Weatherley, dig in for a while, lose concentration and then find he's not actually scored very much.
Come on Durham, take that final Yorks wicket so you can start batting and losing some of your own. Force their hand as Yorks won't declare.
Tea couldn't have come at a better time. Can regroup, calm down and come up with a plan. Wish we had Barker's bat though.
Ah well transitioning in div 2 might not be the worst thing. The senior players have let us down big time in the CC.
Well no because Abbott is a senior player and he clearly hasn't. The whole batting unit has been a disaster. That has let us down.
What was the ****ing point of picking Currie for this game? He's not a CC player, he's a one day specialist. Ridiculous selection.
I said before the match started that if we picked four seamers, we could expect one of them to barely contribute. Just not necessary alongside two spinners.
But this isn't the first time we've got our XI wrong - and without hindsight. We've done it multiple times this season. For all the deserved criticism of the batting, it's important decision making like this that is unforgiveable.
