So I'm thinking our best line up for the tournament will be:

Masood
Orr
Prest
Weatherley
Albert
Fuller
Howell
Dawson
Wood
Briggs
Wheal

Obviously Vince and Turner are big misses.

Agreed. Baker might come in after a game or two if Brad has been leaking a few runs, but I doubt Organ or Middleton will be getting any starts unless due to injury.

Three days after my post about an incoming massacre for India, the lively outcome could not be more different with Oz 12 for 3 chasing 500+ for victory. Add to that Kohli's century!!

County Championship fixtures out for next year.

Hants fixtures:

Yorks (H)
Surrey (A)
Somerset (H)
Durham (H)
Notts (A)
Warks (A)
Sussex (H)
Essex (A)
Worcs (H)

Surrey (H)

Christ Surrey at the Bowl last game of the season. That could be fun! Obviously that game stands out like a sore thumb. Also noticable is that we don't have to trek all the way up to Durham or Yorkshire which is a result. Only play Essex once as well although that is at Chelmsford. I think that's a fairly favourable set of fixtures. Thankfully we play Worcs and Sussex twice.

No idea if it's true, because I haven't seen it reported anywhere, but Wikipedia is showing Shayan Jahangir as being part of our squad for the GSL. Not a name I recognise, but it looks like he's a keeper and opening batter for USA, after emigrating from Pakistan.

Just been watching the highlights on TNT. Not great batting or fielding, but decent bowling. So good to see Briggs back in a Hawks shirt.

Sonny was unlucky with his figures. In particular one of his 4s would have been a simple catch for a front-line keeper (it just went straight through Albert).

Also, in the main, umpires are generally held in higher esteem than referees. This certainly has much to do with the subjectivity involved in football. It also has much to do with the differring cultures in different sports. I played cricket for many years and never questioned an umpire's decision, even when I knew it to be wrong. The same was true in my short Rugby career. However football was another matter...

Solid fielding and bowling for those first 10 overs. Just a lone misfield from Prest which cost an extra run.
