That's appalling from Bangladesh. He obviously had an issue with his helmet. Hope Matthews mankads Shakib when he comes on to bowl. I think he will get someone that way as well - he's livid.

The rules vs sportsmanship debate once again...

In the first place it is poor sportsmanship by Bangladesh for even appealing for something that this rule wasn't brought in for. Secondly it's not good enough for people to say the umpires had no choice once the appeal was made. The rule was brought in to stop batsmen deliberately wasting time getting out to the middle or not being ready in time. He was in the middle on time when his helmet broke, applying the time out rule in these circumstances is ridiculous.

This will go on for a while .

during the break , some said the 4th official, had said Mathews was out of time BY THE TIME HE GOT TO THE CREASE .

That’s what the radio said , not sure if it’s true or not .

Must admit I didn’t be like this before , but now I’m f**k sportsman ship .

Rules are rules .

This instance may not be what timed out was introduced for , but if it can legally be used , then fair enough .

If the rule needs amending then fine do so .

I can't think of a better white-ball innings than that. At any level.

The size of the innings. The speed of the innings. The match situation. The injury. Just incredible.

(And as it happens, Maxwell also has the joint-best white-ball innings that I've ever seen someone in a Hampshire shirt play.)
