Well done Joe.

Hopefully he starts to hit out now, because the innings has stalled since Broad got out. Hit some runs then get on with bowling.

That could well go on to cost us the test. Seemed so odd to throw away Joe Root in that form on a flat track for 4 overs on a pitch doing nothing.

I have day 4 tickets so not what I wanted either!!
I think we need to accept the ultra-aggressive mindset under McCullum and Stokes, regardless of whether it goes well or not. I doubt the decision to declare will be the thing that costs us the test, should we lose. More the fact we lost 8 wickets today. If we were 5 or 6 down even Stokes wouldn't have declared. At 8 down, you're probably only looking at another 50 runs tops so I do get the logic of declaring and trying to get a wicket before stumps.

I can see why they think it was a good idea, but not on a pitch like this.

With the dodgy weather on sunday we should have been looking to bat out as long as possible today & Sat (whilst still playing aggressive cricket).

I think the Aussies will post 400+ and we will be wishing we had another 50 on the board.

Time will tell, should be fun to watch whatever happens!

Good thing we have those two wickets, because this has otherwise been an awful start.
