Pretty poor this from Somerset. Not even interested in eating into Lancs' declaration bowling.
Somerset’s ambition this season seems to be to avoid relegation, which seems a bit limited. Having said that, the match was always going to be a draw, going by the lack of wickets today.

It will be interesting to see if Abbott is named in the squad tomorrow after his knee trouble. Even if he is, he might not be fit enough to take his place in the starting XI. What do people think about his potential replacement? Prest is who they went for last time, but that didn't work against Warwickshire. Bowling-wise, what's happened to Brad Wheal, I haven't even seen him playing 2nd XI cricket?

Other seam bowling options are Currie, Turner and Campbell if we want to go for a bowling replacement this time.

Now I will be the first to admit that although I enjoy watching Cricket , I don’t actually know that much about it .

I do know ( from hearing this from quite a few retired cricketers ) , that The Wicket Keeper is a VERY specialised position .

Foakes has been dropped & Bairstow is in .

Although I haven't seen it reported anywhere, my assumption is that Wheal is injured.

So it's a straight choice between Prest and Crane then, completely different balance to the team whichever way they go. My feeling is they'll stick with one spinner at this time of year so Prest will get another go, probably at number 5 or 6 with Dawson dropping to 7 and Holland at 8. That would leave either Fuller or Barker at 10, not a bad tail this time, in theory!

Replacing Prest with Turner makes more sense.

Turner or Crane, we'll find out tomorrow.
