This is fine for a few overs to get your eye in but you do need to rotate the strike. Dot balls just add pressure.
 
He doesn't know how to bat as a number 7. He bats like he's still an opener (as he's done every game this season at no.7).
Even as an opener, you should be looking to rotate the strike. Someone needs to tell him to stop blocking every bloody ball.
 
I wonder how many more runs it will take for Essex until Warks start getting anxious. I wouldn't want to chase more than 140 really.
 
86-5 isn't exactly a great session. But now that it's happened, I wouldn't be against a repeat of it. Another session of 86-5 would give us a very healthy lead 180, with an entire session to bowl at them.

Yes it would only be one batting point, but that morning session has put an end to a big haul of batting points already.
