Now granted, it's only Kent. If you want to win the title, you should be looking at beating Kent, Northants and Gloucester as your foundation for that. (Which is why what Lancs and Yorks do against them this afternoon is interesting.)

We've already faced arguably the best batting line-up in the division (Surrey), and now we've got arguably the best bowling attack in the division. Jimmy, Mahmood, Ali, Parkinson is a well-rounded, international-quality attack.

There's also a world a difference between Jimmy, Ali and Bailey with the new ball, and Balderson and Wells with the old ball.

Lancs are capable of doing that to anyone's top order, whether on day one or two.

Good to see Abbott finally survive his first ball. But not his second!
 
I think this is his best innings in a Hants shirt TBH. He's hit bigger totals but he hasn't faced Jimmy, Ali and Bailey on a green tinged pitch with the new ball in any of those, while wickets tumbled at the other end.
