To justify his slow scoring Gubbins had to be there at stumps and to be fair, he didn't look like getting out and he made it to the close. Hopefully we can get up to 350 at least tomorrow (not concerned about the batting points now). Just need a substantial first innings lead.

I know we're a bit disappointed with that when compared to where we were three hours ago, but at the start of the day I would have absolutely taken a 40 run lead with five wickets in hand.

Hopefully we can bat until lunch tomorrow (or even beyond). A lead of, say, 120. Then three to four sessions to bowl them out. Then one to two sessions to chase down what they set us.

Extras up to 68 now. 68! 20 of them are from 10 no balls which is pretty bad. 36 byes conceded by Bracey although he couldn't do a huge amount about some of them.

Could Leicestershire win and send Surrey into the bottom division along with Middlesex as they are getting through the Middlesex second innings quite well. 17-4 at the moment.

So, there's 148 overs left in the match. We need 10 wickets plus maybe a small run chase. If Gloucs save this one as well as one at The Ageas Bowl I will be seriously hacked off!
