Great bowling display. Even better fielding display.

As I said at the start though, Essex are like us in being a top batter short.

I would be strongly thinking of leaving Lewis out tomorrow (either use him in the middle overs vs spin, or don't use him at all). I'm just not sure if I favour Northeast or Abbott as his replacement. Unlike Essex, Sussex have a string of big hitters - it only needs one or two them to get going. Salt and Garton tonight.

I am a bit hacked off with not being able to attend the England v Sri Lanka match at the Ageas due to the restrictions although i can appreciate that this is necessary. I was wondering what would happen with the T20 this summer as I have tickets for that too. as well as matches later in the season at The oval and Lords. I am not envisaging the restrictions being loosened much this summer.

Can't think of too many players who have had a worst start to their test career's than Bracey. Whether with bat or gloves, he's had a shocker this series.

Well done, St B! We needed that wicket and it’ll do Bracey’s confidence the world of good to take that catch!! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Fortunately Dawson's t20 call-up should only mean that he misses one match for us. Away to Somerset.

Obviously I'm not happy about the scoreline, but I am pleased for Wagner ahead of next week. The suggestions in recent days that he should miss out are ludicrous, given both his quality as a bowler and his contribution in getting them to the final in the first place. He is making his case.

For sure, in an ideal world you want a spinner at the Bowl. But NZ's best attack, by some distance, is their four main seamers. So go with that.
