The only good news for Kent is that I would assume he's on quite a short leash. Can't see England wanting him bowling more than 4 or 5 over spells given his elbow issues.

This is incredibly close to must-win already for Middlesex. If they don't, they'd surely have to win all four of their remaining matches to have a shout - and not only is not very unlikely, but it might not even be enough.
