A bad case of not investing in the infrastructure. Anyhow it makes sense to split the abbey and the school.

Totally agree. Respect.
Watched virtually whole match & and although so, so wanted England to win, at the end, really didn’t want anyone to lose. And for this guy to speak so well immediately after & again here; well, as you say FLT, doffs cap.

Edit: Definitely my 2nd fav team now.

Great interview by Eoin Morgan! When asked if it was the luck of the Irish which won it, he said “Allah was with us” - perfect riposte to show the multi-cultural team they are!

Still think the cup should have been shared, but, these days, this wouldn’t satisfy the punters. Winning is everything :emoticon-0112-wonde

Everyone knows the rules when they start...as the NZ Captain said.

The NZ team should be proud of themselves though....may not have got the trophy, but didn't really lose.

It's usually England who gain moral victories without an actual victory...it's nice that the boot's on the other foot this time. <diva>

Excellent interview. England, for me, definitely had more than their share of luck on the day but, as KW said, they deserved to win the trophy because of the way they had played throughout the tournament.
A question for those that follow the game more than I do.
Can someone explain Umpire’s Call.
The first ball Roy faced, that struck his pad, was declared Not Out by the umpire, yet the technology indicated that the ball would strike the outside of his leg stump.
Why doesn’t this make the umpire reverse his original decision?
Is there an element of error within the technology that makes it less than 100% accurate, with marginal decisions?

I think your last comment is right . There is an element of error for want of a better word .

The rule is that if 50% or more of the ball is hitting 50% or more of the stump then it’s officially hitting, so if Umpire’s Call was Not Out, then the call is reversed. If less than 50% of the ball is hitting less than 50% of the stump then an Umpire’s Call of Not Out stands. If, on the other hand, the Umpire calls Out, then even if less than 50% is hitting, the batsman is still out.

So it all depends on what the Umpire’s original decision is. To some extent all technology has an error margin, as indeed all humans do!

Warwickshire need 230 to beat Essex, with 3 wickets left.

Hampshire 50 ahead, with 5 wickets left.
