Notts win a thriller v Northants. Which means they top the group and we avoid a potential semi final clash with them.

Looks very much like Middlesex v Lancs will be one QF. But it's still very unclear who will be away to Worcs in the other.

Kent very much still hanging in there. If they do pull off this chase, it could be exceptionally tight on NRR between Sussex and Gloucs for 3rd.

Primarily the latter. There are eight 4 day matches between Markram leaving and the t20s starting. That's more than half the season. But we're hoping for it to be a three month contract by all accounts, which ultimately would take us through the bulk of the t20s too.

It's quite possible that Markram will then take back over from Rahane after that (SA are free after the WC until October). Of course in theory they could team up together in t20s, but I'm hearing that Chris Morris could be our t20-only overseas player.

That should, we shouldn't get our hopes up too high. Getting a NOC, and thus agreement, from the BCCI can be notoriously difficult. They really do seem to have a thing against their players playing domestic cricket outside of India. Although they have softened slightly in the last two years.

Very good win today. 350 was probably par on that pitch, with the short boundary. We look better than when we won it last season. But need to sort out our bowling to the tail.

Not sure why it took us so long to confirm.

Happy with that. Worcestershire and Somerset are more likely to have that one special innings that can blow you away.

Very happy indeed. And if it's Middlesex, they'll still be without Stirling and Murtagh because of Ireland duty (and by all accounts Malan will still be injured).

On the flip side though, if it's Lancs, they'll have Livingstone back from the IPL.

Northeast has said what I suggested the other day - that if Vince isn't selected on Saturday, we're hopeful the ECB will allow him to play for us on Sunday. (Even more so after yesterday was washed out). So it could come down to Roy's fitness.

Jos is just an absolute freak.

We need to make it a policy at the WC that once we reach 25 overs, Jos is the next man in.

Vince confirmed as available.

Now it's just a case of whether we stick with Fidel, or recall Taylor. Given today's ODI's, it's an easy answer for me.

Beware Anderson. That is a useful seam attack the Red Rose county have - Onions, Mahmood and the much celebrated Anderson. I wonder if Anderson has ever played in any of the one day finals such is his serivce to England. I hope it doesn't happen at Hampshire's expense but many neutrals would love hiim to turn out for his county in the final.

Which red rose county; them or us?
