Very glad we won the toss. Not a bowling day.

Used pitch too (and as yesterday illustrated, it's not a pancake). Don't want to bat last on a used pitch.

Scoring has badly slowed recently. It was always going to dip after losing Vince, but we're going nowhere whilst edging closer to facing a new ball.
 
That's a really poor innings from Northeast. If you're going to anchor the innings you can't get out on 41.

And possibly just within the 110 overs too. Rilee, Berg and Abbott in particular won't bat slowly.

We were though comfortably on course to make the 400 within the 110 overs whilst Vince was going along. Maybe his innings will be the stand out innings like Buttler's was on this wicket yesterday?
 
Since the thrashing that Broad and Co handed us in early May, Rilee's run of red ball scores reads 38, 65*, 46, 39*, 54*.

Signs that he's finally starting to crack it.
