It's rarely a bad thing when the opposition need to make the highest score of the match in the fourth innings.

2 early wickets for Hants, including Mitchell. Worcs 67/5 now. Victory isn’t quite assured yet but that’s a very good start.

Just got back from the game. Thoroughly solid bowling display. Apart from the last one, I wouldn't say that Worcs threw any of their wickets away.

Excellent time to be playing Surrey IMO. No Morkel or Tom Curran and this is their first game. Oh, and please call correctly Vince as it's going to be easily the hottest day of the match so batting first will be very advantageous.

Surrey went into tea at 187/4. 50 minutes after the resumption they're 211 all out. Whatever the Hampshire players had for tea give to Saints players!

211 all out looks a good performance with the ball but maybe best to wait until both sides have batted.

Well what do we think about "100" ball innings? Judging by today´s performances, it has already arrived. Durham are already one down in their second innings.

I suppose this is the result of ground staff having very little time to prepare pitches, and as we are only weeks past the equinox, the sun is still not strong enough for the pitches to be really firm, hence the freakish performances. Really, the start of the season should be held back until the beginning of May. and completed by the end of the first week of September. In its glory years the counties played many more 3 day games, the 50 over game, the 60 over game and the 40 over game. Don´t tell me the players are playing any more than in the heyday of cricket in the 70s and 80s?

Agree completely.
Since the introduction of the two divisions the effect of early and late season games has been more significant, before you might drop a place of miss a championship chance. Now status and money are very much involved.
