106 or less is the target for Aus to overtake our current NRR. But our current NRR could yet decrease, even if we win.

I think 117 or less is the real target.

22 off 6 is surely one or two big blows too many for Afghan. Without that horrible three-wicket over, they would probably have won this.

21 off 6

Sorry you’re right, I was looking at the table before it was updated. Yes, any sort of win will do nicely. Presumably if we scored 500 and bowled Sri Lanka out for 10 we could theoretically overtake NZ?

As an example, if we scored 200, then we would need to bowl SL out for 73 in reply in order to win the group.

To be honest, I'm fine with finishing 2nd. I said before a ball was the group stage started that, ourselves aside, SA's batting line-up looking the most dangerous to me. And following their defeat yesterday, they will almost certainly be finishing 2nd in their group. So us also finishing 2nd means playing India instead. That will still be a tough match, no question, but I fancy us more against India than against SA.

I'm torn TBH. I fancy our batters more against SA but our bowlers against India. Weighing it all up I think I'd rather play SA.

Sri Lanka are pretty much punishing every ball that is there to be hit.
Seeing Rashid slowing the run rate is good but also concerning as our scoring rate against spin is the worst of the super 12 teams and SL normally have decent spin bowlers.
There's also a very short boundary to attack. I'm not too concerned.
