For Ellis to do that it suggests that we still think something decent is essential. You don't play that shot if you think 145 or 150 is defendable.
That ends any chance of 160, and makes 150 difficult. 12 balls of trying to knock 12 singles. Maybe Wood might connect with one or two.
I stand by my one-in-four chance. Lancs massive favourites, but there is something in the wicket and we do have a strong attack. It does need the real Mason to turn up though - and for the pace in the wicket with the new ball to still be there for us too.
2021: 167 vs 142 2020: Rain reduced 2019: 145 vs 148 (no balls left) 2018: 157 vs 158 (9 balls left) 2017: 190 vs 168 2016: 153 vs 155 (5 balls left) 2015: 166 vs 153 2014: 181 vs 177 2013: 194 vs 92 That's the final scores since Finals Day became permanently based at Edgbaston. So 152 is the second lowest first innings score. A couple of 160s have been defended, but nothing lower.
Poor from Wheal. Jennings went down to play that about an hour before he released the ball. Looked like he had time to change his delivery last second.
