Interesting. Feels like a waste to use a Briggs over first up. It's not like either of our openers are someone like Roy, who you feel like you could get early going for a big shot.
Two overs of pace have gone fine. Two overs of Briggs haven't. I guess Sussex will take that, because he got the most important wicket. But I do find it odd that he's already half way through his overs.
It's still just those two Briggs overs. The other five have gone absolutely fine. And have almost made up for the Briggs overs.
I know it's Northeast's favourite shot, and he does (usually) play it better than most. But it's always been the cricket shot which I hate the most. Fraught with danger, either edging to the keeper or chopping on like that.
The running is considerably better than the Surrey game. Cue a run out in the next couple of overs now.
Not that I'm in any way trying to defend what we were doing against Surrey (because it was awful), but I always think it's easier running when chasing.
Still slightly behind on the rate - we've never been ahead of it - but with only two wickets down, that isn't a problem. Just need to avoid tight overs. Keeping the runs ticking.
