Worcester 200 all out in 83 overs, so that’s 3 bowling points to go with the 2 batting points. I think we’re OK as long as we don’t lose this, but winning would be nice to make certain.
Well done to Somerset!! Good luck in the final against the powerhouse that is currently Essex!! To stand any chance against Essex, Somerset might well have to score well in excess of 300 in their first innings, something they have not achieved that often in the tournament thus far. Over to you Chilco!!
I’m guessing Babar Azam will come back in for the final after being rested for the Worcester game following his busy summer with Pakistan. We need him very badly as our bowling points outweigh our batting 15:10 so far. The match will be won by our brilliant bowling attack though, which is good enough for just about anybody. Having a Lords final lasting up to 4 days is such a unique thing it deserves to be on terrestrial TV. Still, at least no one can accuse us of doctoring the pitch this time!
Well done Zummerzet, want them to win it now and it would be ironic if they have never won the County Championship but are the only winners of the Bob Willis Trophy!
It'll be nice being back at the Bowl. I wonder if they trained there this afternoon? Jordan being available just adds to their already impressive bowling attack. Even without Salt, I would still make them favourites. But we have a chance. Presumably Organ will make way for Vince.
I’m not getting ahead of myself, but after losing out to Essex in the last game last season to be denied our first county championship, and with the points deduction next season (don’t get me started) meaning we won’t have a chance in that one, it’s like the whole history of first class cricket in Somerset hinges on this one game at Lords. I have every confidence that Somerset’s team will be well and truly up for it!
Sussex think this should be the format of the County Championship, with the counties put into smaller groups. I feel this tournament may have a future
Just googled him. 22 years old, leg spinner. Has played a grand total of 2 first class games for Oxford MCCU.
