Right now we're the only realistic thing standing in the way of an Aus-India final. Which is saying something, given that the odds of us even making the SFs are not great.
Today is the day! I dont think we stand a chance and having checked with the bookies was surprised to see we are slight favourites! Indian win at evens looked good to me. Hope I am proved wrong!
The main reason for being happy at batting first is that I think it gives us the best chance of winning the match. That clearly is the most important thing. But it also means that Roy can get his batting done first - so if, say, five overs into the Indian reply he starts to "feel his hamstring", nudge nudge wink wink, off he trots for Vince or Dawson to do his fielding.
Somerset reverting back to the tactic of previous years of playing two spinners at home (possibly a used WC pitch?). Us batting second. Soames back into the side. No second spinner for us, without Dawson. I wouldn't be backing our chances, albeit it shouldn't concern Rahane. (Bairstow, you're living very dangerously)
Trying to watch England....but definitely a behind the sofa day. Perhaps I should clean it out ready for the football season.
Amazed that they didn't review that. You could hear the contact on TV. And of course Roy follows it with 6 and 4 (with is exactly what we need to do to Hardik.)
Did anyone else hear Atherton say to Kholi that all the PKISTAN fans will be supporting them ?( Happened at the coin toss )
This is so much better from England, a great base to build on. Shows how much we have missed Jason Roy.
