He's just not good enough. If we really wanted to play four seamers despite having no Wood, I'd have thought that Barker would have been a more suitable replacement. Like Wood, he's a left armer who likes to get a little bit of swing, and can hold a bat.

That should be top three done. But where in the top three is still very much unknown.

 

Good win for Hampshire. I thought 307 might be under par at the Oval but just shows you can bowl!

 

Fair play to Sussex. To chase down 284 after being 94-6 and then 260-9 is some going.

That's Essex out of the equation. In fact, realistically, unless Middlesex beat Somerset tomorrow, that should be the top three sown up. (And I'd be very surprised if Middlesex do win, given that I presume Morgan, Malan, Stirling and Murtagh will all be unavailable.)

Big score for Somerset to chase. But from memory, Radlett is a tiny ground. Edges go for 6.

Either way we win. If Somerset chase it, then Middlesex can forget about catching us. If they don't chase it, we can very almost wrap up first place with victory tomorrow.
