Do you think this is a good move? Personally, I feel the move to a 10 team División 1 will make promotion to that división more accessible for likes of Gloucestershire and Glamorgan.
I can't see Glamorgan getting promoted anytime soon. Although next season is the time to do it with 3 going up from div 2. Fantastic opportunity for the smaller counties there.
Sri Lanakan fielder just chased and stopped a boundary by about 6”... he stopped the ball dead before jumping over the boundary line, only to forget to step back inside before picking up the ball. A four instead of two runs!
Good day for England in the end. Foakes was long overdue a test cap and he's proved it. Fine wicketkeeper as well. Long term plan could be to take the gloves off Bairstow and have him in as a specialist batsman, with Foakes as keeper.
Is Bairstow a poor keeper? If he is good enough as a keeper then surely he can be a keeper batsman rather than having 2 players in the team?
Bairstow's a good keeper but Foakes is a top class keeper. If Foakes can prove himself with the bat I'd have both in the team.
Great to see some England spinners for a change. I would hope one of the spinners (Jack Leach) cements a place in the test team for the home series next summer, alongside the wonderful Moeen.
Foakes out on 37. Lead 458, but no sign of declaration. Time not of the essence, so perhaps we'll play out tonight and even an hour tomorrow.
He will have a Not Out, which may improve his batting average, albeit not by very much. Can’t think of anything else.
England win by 211 runs, Moeen 4-71, Jack Leach 3-60. How it does my heart good to see a Somerset spinner getting wickets for England again!
How nic to see England´s spinners getting the bulk of the wickets. When was the last time England´s spinners got more than 50% of the wickets in a Test match? Also well done to Jack Leach, and let´s hope he can cement a long term place in the test team as a class spinner is worth his place in any team. Warne and Murali got plenty of wickets on many a non-favourable pitch. I am not suggesting Jack Leach is in that class yet, but I hope he proves himself on this tour to make it difficult for him to be dropped.
England v Sri Lanka, St Lucia (20:00 GMT, 10th Nov) Women's T20 World Cup. Can think of worse things than touring the Caribbean playing cricket.
