Partially aside, it would be good if a team like Gloustershire won the T20s as I don´think they have won anything since the days of …… Mike Proctor. Correct me if I am totally wrong and they have won something in the last 10 years.

They won the one-day cup in 2015.

And were very dominant with the white ball in late 90s and early 00s.

T20 Blast starts tonight.

Alas I think I'll give our opening home match vs Glamorgan on Friday night a miss; Brazil v Belgium looks tasty! (Plus Federer might be playing early Friday evening too).

I'm thinking an XI of:

Rossouw
Munro
Vince
Alsop
Northeast
Dawson
McManus
Berg/Topley
Abbott
Wood
Mujeeb

Having allowed Abbott to rest for the one-day matches, it may be that we allow Berg to rest for the t20 matches. His lower order batting hopefully won't be required as often in t20 matches, and I'm rarely impressed by his bowling in the shortest format. He doesn't really give economy or wickets.

Grant Elliot (despite being from NZ) says "it's coming home" in his interview at the toss!

Topley out for the season. His fifth stress fracture. This time he's going to have surgery (which he hasn't done before), which I would suggest might be last chance saloon.

Given that he played about 70% of our one-day games, the ECB really shouldn't have got him to play Lions cricket straight afterwards.

I liked this for your second sentence.

Sad news for the lad.
